My Cute Subtext Inquiry continues
Jan. 31st, 2013 10:32 pmLast night I caught up with CSI and treated myself to a double feature of the latest two episodes. I enjoyed the cases, but I wish TPTB would stop dragging relationship issues in. I so don't care and I long for the days when the team worked on two cases simultaneously so they didn't have time for ridiculous romance. As usual I'm going to ignore the whole Hodges situation.
However much I miss Grissom, I hate that his only involvement is not even case-related. In my head canon Sara/Grissom never happened, because both of them are emotionally stunted individuals who never had a personal conversation ever. Besides: my Gil Grissom would stay single forever. Except for maybe the ocassional intellectually stimulating flirting and physical explorations with lady Heather and that lady from the antropology department and possibly some intimate tutoring of Nick and Greg; he thrives on his own. So I wish TPTB would stop trying to make GSR happen. They should just stick to science and leave the soap-opera to fandom, we're obviously much better at writing that;)
For more (and shorter) thoughts on recent CSI and in particular Nick/Greg, I refer you to my comments in the new episode discussion posts in

Below I've screencapped a lovely Nick/Greg moment from episode 2!
CSI: Cute Subtext Inquiry, Nick/Greg edition
S13 - Ep2: Code Blue Plate Special
Nick wants Greg to try the chili cheelas at Vincent's diner for breakfast...

Nick: Hey, you know what I'm talking about though, I'm talking about the dish with the tortillas....
Greg: Yeah, I know what you mean.
THEY ARE SO IN SYNCH \o/

Nick: I can't believe we've been coming here for the past twelve years and you've never had the chili cheelas!
Greg: I don't like chili cheelas.

Nick: Seriously, have you had Vincent's?
Greg: No!
Clearly Nick is overcome with emotion, because not a second ago he scolded Greg for never having had Vincent's chili cheelas. Greg's "No!" sounds understandingly exasperated *grins*

Nick: Sara! Hey, help me out here...

Sara: You know, I'm not a fan neither.
Nick: Really?
Sara: Yeah.

Hehehehe, I love Nick's "what's wrong with you two?!" face and Greg's smirky smile :-) Poor Nick, he's all alone in his love for funky food.

alsdgagaeoigdjl;fkdfl; I'm sorry, I'll continue with the plot in a second. Let's just take moment to admire Nick's pants, shall we. *chinhands*

Police: Hi! What, did Vincent call you guys too?
Nick: No, we're just coming here to grab something to eat, why?

Officer: Not sure, Vincent says he's stuck in the fridge, he can't get his brother to answer his cell.
Greg: *smirk* Maybe he's enjoying some chili kelas.
Nick: No, no, it's chili cheelas.
Heehee. Good one, Greg :-p *ruffles Nick's hair*
BONUS ACTION SHOT:

(FYI: Greg was holding the door open for Nick. Also: notice how he doesn't carry a gun.)
Unfortunately the diner is now a crime scene so they have to postpone their food discussion. Ahw. So sad about the diner. Remember S6Ep21 Rashomama, when Nick says:"Why do we always go here?" and we got our Public Declaration Of LoveTM \o/ Meeeeemories, lalalalalalalaaaaaaaaaaaa

Date: 2013-02-05 03:41 pm (UTC)That does seem like a very cute scene, aww! (Still not a fan of Nick's hair though, hehe.)
Not sure I want to know about the Hodges thing. Let me guess: there's a lot of drama involved? :p

Date: 2013-02-05 09:14 pm (UTC)The hair was very frustrating at the start of the season. I actually sighed with relief when he showed up with a buzzcut later on. Who knew I'd ever be happy to see that;)
I suspect you may like the Hodges thing, as it is almost like a South American soap opera and those are the most dramatic :-p
