After lots of deliberation I've decided to sign up for this year's spn_reversebang after all. I'm still worried about not being available during the finetuning of the story, but figured I'll at least be able to offer another author a chance to participate. With the artist/author ratio being what it is, I'm even planning to offer two pieces as usual. Who is surprised?

Once again I managed to save up a lot of vacationdays; even after deducting time for my trip to Australia in December, I have seven free days left for the next five weeks! Can't take them in November due to a big project, so it looks like I will have a couple of very short workweeks until then, ha!

Today's unexpected free time will be dedicated to finishing my Early bird admission for the Reverse Bang. I have put aside the elaborate design I had been working on since this summer, because I didn't think it was fair to both me or the potentially prompted author to be extra stressed about last minute adjustments while I'm incommunicado. I hope the new artwork will at least be inspiring, even if it's not a hands on design;) Whatever happens I'm glad I can fiddle with the guys for a bit. :-p

I think all the artists and authors on my flist already did, but just in case you forgot, you can still join!
[artists need to sign up before Oct. 13; claimday is Oct. 26, so authors have until Oct. 25]

If you're happy, I'm happy, so yay:) Despite being worried about fiddling either too much or not enough, I have sent in my first design half an hour ago. Now the waiting until claimday begins, eeep. In the mean time I'm going to try and come up with another piece. Dundundunnnn.

I feel like I'm not worthy of your enthusiasm, but it's much appreciated;) I may be secretely hoping for an author that can write fast enough for me to fiddle outside of Photoshop as well. I already had fun playing with the guys, so wahey. (Sent in my first piece half an hour ago!)

Right now, I really want to send in a early bird submission. I'd like the chance to make 2 pieces. I don't think I will have time for it though, cause I have a whole lot of cleaning to do before my guests arrive on Friday. Anmani and her 2 kids + a friend of Anmani (and now me) with her daughter is coming for the 3rd time. It has become a tradition now that they come one weekend in October.

It's not very polite to sit and make art while I have guests here :-)
I'll see - maybe I can use it as inspiration. If I am fast and clean the house early tomorrow - then I can play in photoshop as much as I want afterwards?

I actually looked into a few PS tutorials yesterday, that I really wanted to try. Maybe I can use that as a starting point :-)
Oh, I am all eager now. Hm... Think I should clean a little bit NOW - so that I can play more tomorrow! YAY

I hope you succeed! It's really the idea that matters most at this stage, execution can be perfected later;) I'm aiming for a new PS approach for my second piece, but it's hard to step out of my comfort zone. Tomorrow it's back to work and next weekend I'm having a guest, so if it's gonna happen, it has to be this weekend.

I didn't go for anything new - that has to be for the other submission. :-) I think everyone will recognize my art this time. It's in typical BflyW-style. But that's how it is when you have to do it fast.

I too all of a sudden got a new idea for the second submission, we'll see how that turns out. I may run screaming back to Photoshop after all, but hey, the brainstorming process is already entertaining:)
