Let it snow, let is snow, let it snow
Dec. 27th, 2014 01:48 pmWoah, it's snowing! Good thing that didn't happen yesterday when I had my birthdayparty. Cars, trains and busses didn't have any problems getting my family over. While waiting for them to arrive, I could roll around in wishes from all over the world.
Thank you,

Smishes for
cassiopeia7 who gave me a message from bedhead Jeff;
tmn1966 for the e-card;
sillie82 who posted a Jeff & Jensen picspam and
bflyw for young CSI Nick *chinhands*.
Special squees go out to
ashtraythief who sent me a Jeff/Jensen fic that hopefully will be shared with y'all next year (notice the smug smile on my face:) *treasures*
Of course a big thanks to my besties
kennsea,
tanisafan and
sillie82 for sending me presents. (Even if some of you confused my bday with Xmas :-p)
Y'all made me feel like a total birthday girl. A 45 year old, very happy birthday girl:)
I wish you all could have been here for a piece of cake, instead I offer photos of the festivities.
Before we get to the food, let me show you around my meagerly decorated apartment...
Everybody is dressed for the holidays. Just in case you can't read it, mannequin man's underwear says "Jingle my balls", the legs both have seasonal undies as well;)
Also: how cool are those tentacle fingers? Found them in Amsterdam last weekend!
Also also: mannequin man is wearing the Samulet I got from
kennsea. <3
Tuquoise stars and snowy balls on my bookshelf; there is also a set of skull lights to go with my birthday theme.
Hard to capture the awesomeness of my coloured chandelier lights; they also leave pretty lighteffects on my ceiling and floor.
Artistic pile of balls. *g*
My pile of presents for breakfast and some candy that I totally saved for my guests. I got that skull from Sinterklaas; had to put the jaw and all the teeth together myself. It is now a serving bowl, because that's how I roll.
Presents \o/ Books from
tanisafan and a box full of goodies from
sillie82 (check out that knitted snitch!) <3
Sampling my chocolate Arretjescake while catching up online. (Hi Jared, welcome to the party, bb)
My real life guests arrived around 14:00 (2pm) and I could finally reveal the awesome cake I had ordered. I put a symbolic amount of candles on it (to fit my age would cover the awesome picture;)
I had picked a Nijntje cake (which is the original Dutch name for the cute bunny worldwide known as Miffy) and had asked for a skull instead. The baker hadn't quite understood what I meant but made a wicked Nijntje with a skull, it made me giggle and giddie with glee. The magnificent colour is exactly as I imagined.
(The skull cups are filled with Arretjescake made by me:)

Birthday girl. THAT CAKE WAS SO SUPER DELICIOUS AND AWESOME. (Oh, hey Jensen, nice of you to join us;)
I had asked brotherdearest to open the kiddie champagne (apple flavored fizzy drink:). It was a nerve wracking moment for all. :-D
My kind of people, my kind of party. While mom and I were taking care of food and drinks, everyone found a book to read. <3
After the crazy wild party at home, we walked to the Chinese restaurant nearby where I had made reservations for dinner.
It was mm-mm good; I loved how everyone got to choose something from the menu fitting to their personality and taste. Of course we shared everything:)
Dessert was also de-lic-ious.
Also: preeeeeeeeeseeeeeeeeents. *smishes*
The two tiny plates are actually gift certificates from a restaurant; I'm going out to a fancy dinner with my mom at "Kletsen & Proeven" (Chatting & Tasting).
The morning after. Left over cake for breakfast. Omnomnom.
Thanks to everybody who made sure this was the BEST birthday.
*hugs you all*
J.

Date: 2014-12-27 01:15 pm (UTC)OMG, lady, I LOVE your house!! Mannequin Man, that coily bookshelf, the chandelier, all the skulls, that bright green knife . . . you most definitely have the soul (eye, and heart!) of an artist. Darn it, I've gotta come visit you one day. :D
. . . you don't even wanna know what those two "pointy" objects beneath the chandelier reminded me of . . . *blushity-blush*
