We did it! We made it through the year, go us *hugs you all* I'm glad you were around to blog to and am still thrilled I finally got to meet some of you in person. My roadtrip through the USA with darling [livejournal.com profile] tmn1966 was definitely the highlight of the year:)
Two other events stand out for me in 2015: I bought a mobile phone (and as expected got hooked on the internet even more) and, ehm, I lost my job of nearly 20 years. Right.

With the failing business it was not really a surprise, but a shock nevertheless. It changed my life rather drastically and even after four months of unemployment I still can't manage to get through the days properly. It's been very confrontational to discover how much my time and self image were linked to work. I'm a hard worker, dedicated and precise and great at planning, but when I'm at home I procrastinate like woah and get nothing done. It sucks.

But while I miss my job, I have no regrets about leaving; the last few years the atmosphere was very toxic and damaging to my emotional and mental health. I'm looking forward to find a new, challenging and happier place to work for the next twenty years;)

I'm lucky to live in a country where I get unemployment benefits. It's enough to pay my monthly bills and I only need be careful about what I spend on groceries. I don't have to adjust much otherwise; I just can't make travelplans. Thanks to the holidays and my recent birthday my bookpile is high enough and if I do want to treat myself I still have some giftcertificates I got from happy clients \o/
So I don't have to worry about money while spending my time applying for jobs.
I also have a ticket for the New Year's Eve lottery, so who knows;)

In regards to fandom, I have some questions for y'all:
  • What social media did you start or stop using in 2015?
(If you're looking for me: I have the same name on Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, AO3, Dreamwidth, YouTube and possibly other places I don't remember right now;)
  • Were you more or less involved with fandom this year as a result of that?
  • Do you prefer to comment or rather leave kudos or hearts or likes?

  • (I received an unprecedented amount of "likes" on my Twitter link to my most recent artpost ; I appreciate knowing that people noticed, but I can't tell if that's the new way of leaving love?)

I was going to answer the questions myself and write more about this subject, but will have to postpone all that to my first post of next year, since this is already long and I'm supposed to cycle to my mom's before the fireworks in my neighbourhood get out of hand... (Officially people can't light them until 6 p.m., but they have already started. To avoid getting angry about the fucking noise, I try to keep track of how much money they just blow up in the air, it's strangely satisfying;)

As a final note I would love to squee about this year in the Supernatural fandom: as a big fan of the RPF side of the sandbox I was delighted to see all things Jensen & Jared in Austin and Vancouver with bonus Jeff at conventions. Gosh, these three, they make me so happy. <3<3<3
