ARTpost: ReverseBang 2019-2!
Dec. 9th, 2019 05:14 pmEvery time I participate in a fandom challenge, I try to explore a different area of arting. For the Cinema Challenge it was animation, for the first
spn_reversebang collab it was digital colouring and this time it's detailed papercutting. But first and foremost the motorbike was an excuse to play with Jeff *grins* My artwork was claimed by an author with whom I fangirled over Jensen/JDM before and I couldn't be happier with how we got the guys together this time. May I present:

Prompt Number: R1007
Art title: Wrap it in a Sigh
Artist:
beelikej
Fic title: Soul engines running through a night so tender
Author:
sometimesalways [cherryvanilla on AO3]
Pairing: Jensen/Jeff | Fandom/Genre: RPS, Romance
Rating: PG-13 (art & fic) | Word Count: ~5400 | Warnings: None
Summary: Jensen is a waiter at a roadside Texas diner who doesn’t do relationships, has barely left the state, and is happy spending his nights working on his music. Jeff is a biker who recently moved to Austin, but rarely stays in one place for long. This is their meet-cute.

Behind the scenes
From pencil sketches and tracing the bike to papercutting and photography!

This was the artprompt, that I submitted in September. (I added the polaroids of Jeff and Jensen digitally:)

For the final version, used in the Story Header and the End Banner, I removed the post-its/polaroids and changed the background:)
Making the dividers
The Coffeepot

In the middle of papercutting, the sun came out, so I did a photoshoot in between.

Some close-ups with hard shadows from the sunlight:)
The Bat and the Postcard

I'm running out of daylight, so I'm rushing the postcard to the photoshoot corner and put it together there. See how much duller the light is without sunshine?
Fortunately I had managed some good shots of the rest of the papercuts earlier, so I only had to brighten up the postcard in Photoshop.

Last but not least: the original photo of the main artwork:)
