Come out, come out wherever you are

Well, I've been a very good girl this weekend (due to my very well planned day off today, I still consider this Monday part of The Weekend;). Granted, I didn't complete all the tasks on my to-do-list, but I've tackled the most important issues, so I'm pretty pleased at the moment:)
Yesterday I spent all day at my moms, who had invited a lot of family to celebrate her birthday, but the people she really wanted to come cancelled on her, bastards! So it was just the brothers plus one girlfriend (the other one is in Australia atm, a valid excuse;) and the grandparents, (my dad's parents, so they are my moms ex-inlaws). Before they showed up it was quite awesome to be with the family-unit again, there was a lot of rude and dirty talking. Once the religious couple showed, we had to tone that down a bit, but we still had plenty of opportunity for snickering (what can I say, we are very fond of the double -and single- entendres;). Don't get me wrong, I think the grandparents are very nice to visit my mom (no matter they only do it for the reward they're expecting to get from some higher power) but the conversation is limited to rather boring subjects (plus you get to hear most stories more than once, since they both tend to forget stuff they already told you). Still, at least they showed up;) And even though my mom was really bummed her sister and mom "couldn't" make it, she was really pleased to have all her kids around. Here are some pictures. Brother J. experimented with his old fashioned camera, as soon as he develops and scans those pictures, you'll get a link to those;)
Today I finally decided on another insurance after my current one sent me one letter too many with changes concerning my policy, their policy or name and rules. Seriously, people: you can only fuck me over this much before I say screw you. It may take more than ten years before I finally find the time to do it, but a two finger-salute to you. HA! I bravely faced all the hurdles and applied online for all the policies I need. Go me. I also did the dishes. *takes a bow*
WOW This evening I noticed I was friended by some people I've never spoken too. Well, at least I don't think I've talked to you before: hello! *waves* Now, if you've already spent some time here, you will have learned I'm not really a people person. So if I friend someone it is a pretty big deal. I only put someone on my flist if I intend to actually read the journal and comment on it. Maybe you friended me by accident or you're still trying to find the courage to leave a message, that's why I don't specifically name you here. But I really would like to know why you put my journal on your flist. Not because I worry about being stalked, but I'm seriously curious why you would have an interest in me. So: tell me, please! "Old" friends are of course welcome to share their feelings as well.

Brother J does spend a lot of money on his equipment, but it's well worth it. Seeing him grow from the aweful pictures he took while he was traveling with his big sister years ago to the artful shots he's making now, is a bit overwhelming.

Date: 2007-07-03 07:26 pm (UTC)But even if you only want to lurk, you're welcome to hang here, don't worry about the stalking bit, I really didn't mind. I read in your journal we have some things in common and I noticed you also friended Silly and Dagdrommer, so I figured you were good people;)
Feel free to come back anytime! I liked the rants in your journal, so I do see potential mutual friending possibilities, if you want;)
