This is probably not the best idea with the hormones raging (not the sexy kind, but the ones with an attitude) but I'm gonna spend some time in the kitchen tonight. Mom is coming over for diner tomorrow and I figure I won't be able to focus right after work, so I will be preparing the food in advance... I'm going to make traditional Bobotie and instead of getting an easy packet with all the ingredients ready to go like usual, this time I will be using a recipe. I will have to break eggs and everything! Oh dear. Hmmm, I'm used to making it with bananas and raisins, but this one tells me to use apricot jam and almonds, which sounds interesting.

If it doesn't turn out too disgusting, there might be pictures later...

*turns up music and scurries off to the kitchen*

Dear sweet mother of all that is holy, I had never heard of that, but it looks (and sounds) delicious. But then, any food with kurkuma and raisins in it is a-okay in my book.

I'm gonna have to try this out some time this week. I still need to try [livejournal.com profile] omphale23's recipes for lentils and rice and for brownies, but this will have to go to the front of the queue ;).

Thanks for the share! *prints* And subdue those evil hormones, dahling! ;)

We heard of Bobotie thanks to Gayleen -the other brother's girlfriend, who is originally from South Africa and fabulous in the kitchen. Since both my brothers are mad about bananas, that's how we usually make it in my family:)

Oooh: a recipe with lentils? Me likey lentils! And not just because they remind me of The Young Ones;) Link please.

The hormones are being fed chocolate, so I will survive...

Like raisins, dishes that feature bananas rock by definition :D. I'm so going to try this out (and hope the kitchen doesn't go splodey...).

Me too. She gave me one recipe for lentils and one for chick peas (I'm addicted to chick peas ;), will email them now!
And yay, chocolate to keep the hormones in tow, clever thinking! I'll send the brownie recipe right along with the rest, hehe.
