Work is trying to kill me and I think I might lose the battle. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh.

ETA: It's almost 8 pm and I'm still treading water. I'm aiming to be done for the nine o'clock bus. Last one will leave at 10, that's my back up...

I'm considering staying in a hotel instead of a hostel, since it will be my only trip this year I figure I could treat myself to some luxury. I'm longing for a bathtub ;)

Just two more nights dear, you can manage. Why don't you read the book, that should distract you :-p

Ooo that sounds like a great plan. The rooms at the London hotel I always stay doesn't have a bathtub, but I'm considering visiting mangojunkie for a weekend near the end of August, and I'm sure I can spring for a fancier room if it's only two night ;).

And heh, that would imply that I finish GoF this century. I've decided to make sure I have Goblet finished by the 21st, and then read Deathly Hallows. Then it's the thesisdoom, and afterwards I'll reread the last three books. Wheee, drawn out pleasure!

Well, last time I chickened out from making hotelreservations, since they charge so much for singles (like 1,5 times as much as for a double per person) and I rather spent my money on shoes (pictures available online somewhere, I'm sure I've pimped them before;) So I ended up in a hostel after all.

Also: the rooms are usually described as s/b meaning either shower or bath. I want to try and make sure, but I really hate the whole organizing bit of the trip. Oh, if only I had a personal assistent.

You should be able to finish Goblet. Too bad you didn't get to tOotP, I really thought it was loads better than Goblet. I've even decided I like the film more.

Ahw Thesisdoom, but with something to look forward to as a reward:)

-Yes, I'll go back to work now, don't think I'm only posting, I have Photoshop doing a batch of photos. I'm multitasking baby!-

Ooo yes, you did. Opting to spend your money on shoes instead is a very clever idea. There was this great London trip where we slept in a motel basement that had beds with Spiderman sheets -- but we spent heaps at Virgin Megastore that year ;).
And heh, I'm sure you can manage one phonecall to make sure ;). A bath hangs in the balance, after all!

OotP was my least favourite book in the series, but I think I'll love the film because they cut out the dull bits ;).

I know, I should be able to call and check, because when it comes down to it the decision will be: no bath no hotel.

I remembered tOotP as my least favorite but the reread changed my mind. I especially like the change in Harry. No longer the lovely boy, but more a grumpy teenager with an attitude. Awesome innerturmoil and dialogue with Dumbledore in the final chapters.
There are some boring bits (giants, anyone?) but up until now it's definitely my favorite book.

Ooo good to know, maybe I'll love it with the second read ;). So far, I'm digging Goblet, even though the house elves subplot should've been scratched *eyeroll*. Ohhh and I was reading an interview with the OotP director, and he totally gave a spoiler for the last book. I was totally yelling at my newspaper! It was vague and gave me interesting thoughts but STILL *huffs*.

I'm so glad SPEW was banned from the movie, because that would have been too OOC for film-Hermione.

OMG, I'm so sorry you got spoiled, however trivial or vague it might have been. What an ignorant asshole. He's doing The Half Blood Prince as well. But I'll refrain from reading any interviews. Even though I was wondering why he got the job. I will not pass judgement until after the movie;)

The next few weeks are gonna be hellish trying to avoid possible spoiler sites and articles. I will kill anyone who dares to spoil me. Dammit.

Evil, huh? It was vague though, so I'll live. I'm not avoiding things yet, because the possible spoilers are almost always well marked. But as soon as I buy the book, I'm staying the hell away from LJ and the Interwebs until it's finished. Someone spoiled the ending to OotP for me, and two years ago I was camping at a dig for six weeks and everyone was reading, and it was impossible to avoid getting spoiled as well. I'm determined not to let that happen to me this time, it's isolation for me!

I've heard very good things about Yates, and very bad things. I like his TV work but I'll wait and see how this turns out. No-one can beat Cuaron, so far ;).
