So. This is a message from the future (15th of July 2007 to be exact), hidden in the past, so my dear flist doesn't accidently stumble upon this, because I don't want to spoil the fun for those people who didn't figure it out themselves. So only scroll down if you are really really sure. Don't blame me for ruining your innocence, you have been warned;)

In the book the Order Of The Phoenix, in chapter 16 In The Hog's Head, Harry looks at the barman "a grumpy-looking old man with a great deal of long grey hair and beard. He was tall and thin and looked vaguely familiar to Harry." I thought that was significant. Especially when I remembered someone that was mentioned in chapter nine, when Moody shows Harry an old picture of The original Order...
In the film the scene with the photo is between Sirius and Harry and although I don't think that person is pointed out at that moment, we do get a glimpse of the barman right after Harry, Ron and Hermione enter The Hog's Head later in the movie.
I'm pretty sure the old guy was meant to look 'vaguely familiar' to the audience as well, but if you blinked you might have missed it and if you still want to figure it out yourself by reading the book, it's not too late. Just go to chapter nine and pay attention. But if you want to know what I think... scroll down...

SPOILER IN WHITE TEXT: select text to see....

"That's Dumbledore's brother Aberforth"... Moody said.
The film confirmed my suspicion because the barman was clearly meant to look like Dumbledore.

Feel free to disagree or set me straight, but I think I'm on to something.
Please refrain from spoiling the final book until August 2007. I do not care to know for sure what happens, but if you want to discuss things that have already been hinted in the previous books, I'm listening;)

As Dumbledore mentions in either book one or two: "My brother was prosecuted for practising inappropriate charms on a goat."
(If I remember correctly there is a reference of that in book six as well)

I am now (august 2009) rereading the final book after doing a Harry Potter Marathon and a reread of the previous five books. When that's done I will continue to patiently wait for the final two(!) films...
