Update on my life

My back is slowly but surely improving, but I have started every day with exercises and a double dose of painkillers to be able to get out of bed.

I survived my wild week at work: one down, another one to go...

I was not able to make an appointment with my boss for a big talk

Update on my computer's life

My computer is able to stay awake in safe mode - if I give him time to warm up first

I can go online in safe mode with networking

I can't upload pictures from my camera or use Photoshop in safe mode

There is no sound in safe mode

I can't remove suspicious programs in safe mode

My computerwiz-brother won't be able to come by until Tuesday

I decided I needed some comfort-pressies, so this afternoon I went speedshopping to buy Queer as Folk (UK) and Manhunter, but instead I ended up with Bladerunner (Director's Cut;), Casanova (the series with David Tennant in the lead) and trilogy-documentaries Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi and Naqoyqatsi (resp. 'Life Out Of Balance', 'Life In Transformation' and 'Life As War') - a visual montage portrait of our contemporary world in three parts by director Godfrey Reggio. I've been looking for those for a long time:)
I'm gonna have to order QAF online. Manhunter will be available soon (in the bargain bin apparently - poor WP)

Since I can't be creative I'm gonna have to direct my energy in another direction. I expect there will be a lot of meme-posts tomorrow *g*

Eek, evil safe mode. I've never been able to work with my computer in safe mode, it makes me twitchy.

Ahw man, you got me a present? *blushes* I'll stop buying stuff now. I think I have spend most of my vacation-money anyway;)

The boss keeps doing the big vanishing-act, so I hope he will be available long enough to at least set a date. That's the first step.

I have no choice but to work in safe mode. I miss my pretty background and screensaver. And my music. Grumble.

Heh, that's okay. I'm sure I can think of other stuff *g*. I've spent about 200 euros on books and films this month. Damn you, thesis and the craving you gave me to order stuff online! (You see, I can totally blame *everything* on that thing. ;)

The boss probably senses a disturbance in the force and is avoiding you. Wanna bet?

Hey, I tried to find 'the original theatrical release' as well, but couldn't find it. Honest. Plus: Christmas is very far away and I have to be ready to influence educate the ignorant before then *g*. I'm just glad I didn't have to go through my extensive video-collection to find the classic.

Oh, like I'm scared of that with all the crap I'm already dealing with at the moment. Ha, I say: HA!

I'm so glad I notice the improvement. Of course it doesn't happen soon enough, but I'm confident I will be flexible again. One day.

I'm hoping the worst the 'puter needs is a new dose of XP. But brotherdearest said he had some other tricks up his sleeve before we re-install. Ehm, I think I need good vibes tomorrownight.

I love my safe mode *pets it* because it's the one feature that didn't let me down this weekend;) But 'Eeek' is a pretty good description *g*.
