I forgot to mention the booklist
Sep. 16th, 2007 09:22 pmI've updated my booklist - again. It's still growing, despite my best efforts not to buy more books until I'm done. I've had to add two titles I initially bought for my brother, but kept for myself after I desperately tried managed to find him other presents for his birthday. And when I went to The Hague for the party, his girlfriend Gayleen not only handed me back a book I lent her (and which I have now put on the recommendations-list), she also handed me a book I gave her for her birthday, with the message I had to read it.
I might have to add even more books later, since Jelle kindly mailed me more authors recommended by that bookshoplady that told him about the Floortje Zwigtman's books. Since I'm still not recovered from that story, I simply can not ignore books recommended by either Jelle or that lady;)
I fear I'm never gonna get rid of the to-read-list. *rolls eyes*
And finally: I was going through my -also never ending- links-to-remember list and found a snippet of news in The Den of Geek, that might be of interest to some people on my flist, in particular
tanisafan and
kennedy_unknown as it concerns Veronica Mars and I seem to remember great disappointment when that series was cancelled last season.

Date: 2007-09-20 08:42 pm (UTC)Guus Kuijer is my favorite children's books writer from my childhood. I was very surprised to find these books on the very adult and serious subjects of death-penalty and religion. From the first glances it looks like he shares my opinion on the matters and he supports his rants with facts, which will be helpful for possible future discussions. I'm really looking forward to reading those books.
But first I'm gonna reread Fat Change, because it's been a while since I've read that and I want to prepare for your comments when I lend it to you;)

I wish they would all suck it up and give each other an inch, because while they're fussing over details, nothing is getting done. I'm sure that by the time we finally have a new government, they will have wasted six months they could've used improving social security. Morons. *is ranty*

Date: 2007-09-20 09:20 pm (UTC)I managed to listen to about five minutes of the debates before I had to turn them off to avoid throwing up. Idiots.
I love ranting about politics, with or without superficial comments *g*
