My first (stolen) meme

Found this meme on artistic_sillie's and geekwriter143's lj's and loved it so much (even though I only guessed one song out of the 40...) that I decided to play as well.

Step 1: Get your playlist together, put it on random, and play.
Step 2: Write down the first line from the first 20 songs that play or close to it.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song the lines come from.
Step 4: Cross out the songs when someone guesses correctly.

*I have to admit I checked some lyrics and a good thing I did: for number 9 I was sure I heard 'chased when the raids came'. Ehm, yeah, right, don't laugh, just try and guess the songs now:-p

No Van Morrisson on my playlist, it was a cover sung by Green Day, but you can't tell that from the lyrics, so three points for you:-)

Yep, you got it right: I think that is the most recent song on my playlist, so I will be pleasantly surprised if you know some of the old(er) stuff, you young person you;)

I will post the right answers on New Years Eve, so you have about ten days left to think about them.

Wahey, you got a lot of them right: well done! The Cure is so cool, my favourite song is 'Why Can't I Be You', but the line that makes me squee every time comes from 'Friday, I'm In Love': It's such a gorgeous sight
To see you eat in the middle of the night I don't know why, but I just love that:)
Nr. 6 is not REM, heh, I don't think anyone will guess that song, even if you could hear the intro. You did get nr. 14 and 18 right though, so three points. Thanks for playing!

(Oh and I know Christmas is officially over in the rest of the world, but over here we celebrate two days of Christmas, so I'm still having the boys dress in their santa-hats;)

If it's why instead of Waah ... song #6 could be Why by Annie Lennox... Is it?
And I could I not recognize Tender by Blur (song #16)!? One of my favorite songs ever!

Wow fabiale, you're really good at this! #16 is indeed Tender by Blur, #8 is Lenny Kravitz song Stillness of Heart.

The one that I didn't think anyone would guess (#6) was The Birdmen by Michelle Gun Elephant, a very groovy Japanese band. I couldn't find the lyrics to find out what they are singing but usually they sing the chorus in some kind of english, so you can at least sing a long with that part of the song;)

Now I'm just too curious... I'll have to go find out what the lyrics of that song are... as soon as I find them (if I ever do...) I'll post them to you!

sure, go ahead, it's a fun meme and I even heard some songs I didn't know I had!
I know Woody Harrelson and that particular haircut is just bad-bad-bad. I prefer Nick/GE with the Season 3 sideburns. The shaved head was not really my favourite, but it could be worse (trying not to mention the 'stache...)
