"Could you maybe turn that radio down a notch?"
- "What radio?", the busdriver asked defiantly.
I stared at him and sighed internally.
"The radio I'm hearing at the moment", I said.
- "Is that [level] bothering you?"
I looked at him apologetically.
"Oh, no sir, of course not. I put down my book, got up from my comfortable seat in the middle of the bus and walked all the way to the front to say 'Hi', then noticed you had the radio on and decided to ruin your day by asking you to turn it down."

Or possibly I barely restrained myself from rolling my eyes and told him "Yes, it is", before he obliged and I could return to Stephen Fry's teachings on poetry.

Oh boo, that is no way to start the day *glares at driver*. Did Stephen at least manage to cheer you up? I remember that my busdrivers always played loud music when I went to school, too. How can they even concentrate on the road? Hmpf.

I so love your icon: best.eyeroll.EVER.

Stephen sure is a good teacher; I pay attention and am fascinated:)

We have those signs on the busses how passengers have to keep the volume of their walkman/discman/mp3thingy down and wear headphones, I would think the same applies to the driver.
I used to know every busdriver and his quirks, but since last year a whole can of new ones has been set loose and apparently they don't have to play by the rules. It's annoying.
