This morning started with a hormonal hotflash, I had an attack of nausea on the bus and arrived at work with another hotflash, while some fucker had turned on the heater in my office. I expect there is a lot more fun on its way. (Hey, hello headache and cramps!)
But all that doesn't matter, for tonight will be awesome no matter what: new Torchwood! To get in the mood - or in case you missed the first episode last week, here's a musicvid to summarize:

For some inane reason the BBC will show a pre-watershed edition of the first episode at 7 UKtime (=cut as to not upset the Chyldren). I do not approve of censorship of any kind, and remember Buffy and Sliders being butchered to appease parents who are incapable of guiding their kids. I trust the BBC will keep the groping and only remove the most violent (bloody) bits and bad language, but why water it down? I thought Torchwood was supposed to be the ADULT spin-off of Doctor Who? Grumble-grumble.
I myself will be rewatching the uncut version of Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang before the new episode (22.00 my time) and will be available for fangirling afterwards. See you around eleven? (Central European Time;)

Date: 2008-01-23 07:23 pm (UTC)Nope, no BBC2. I actually don't know what to do to get that here in Norway. I think my cable company is one of those who offers the most Channels, and they have (on their largest pack):
These are the TV channels I can get with my cable company:

This is the package I have:

But no BBC2! :-(

Date: 2008-01-23 10:33 pm (UTC)Wow, that's a lot of channels. I only have 32, but that's standard, no extra package. And BBC 1 and 2 are not shown in widescreen, so I miss the sides of the image. For series that's not a problem, since they still shoot those mostly in the center, but films are impossible to watch. I remember trying to watch Stage Beauty and looking at an empty stage with both actors outside my view!
Channels:
Dutch: Nederland 1, 2 + 3;
Germany: ZDF, NDR, WDR;
UK: BBC 1, 2;
Belgium: Eén, Canvas;
France: TV5;
Commercial stations:
RTL4,5,7,8 Net 5, SBS6, Veronica (all Dutch);
Eurosport;
National Geographic, Animal Planet - Discovery;
MTV + TMF (music)
Comedy Central+Nickelodeon+CartoonNetwork;
CNN, BBC world, Preview channel;
Local: Town + Regional;
TellSell.

Date: 2008-01-23 10:37 pm (UTC)Heh. I remember. I always thought this would've been an awesome Eurovision song. Imagine the silly dances you could do with handmoves and everything: "Don't. Stop me noooooow" :-D Maybe that's just me. *hides*
I already told you to not EVER tell me about teasers again. I take it you now understand why:-p
Do you think they already went on the date? They seemed awfully relaxed around each other...

Date: 2008-01-23 10:43 pm (UTC)This is the standard: http://www.get.no/web/produkt/digitalTV/start
That's 33 channels, so that's about the same.
We decided on the family package because it contains PlayHouse Disney. And really, Amaya need her Little Einsteins, right?
Playhouse Disney is programs for kids 2 - 5 years old. The other Children channels are sending too much violent stuff for my liking, so I wanted a friendly child channel. I am just angry that they can't keep that in the standard package, but have us pay 99 NOK (12 EUR)extra pr month for it.

Date: 2008-01-24 09:26 am (UTC)Um. It's not just you. At the London conventions, it's one of the crowdpleasers, they play it roughly every night. And yeah, there might be insane dance moves going on *blushes*. I'm pretty sure I've bowled people over at some point.
Meeeep. Damn, I know, I was so sure you'd seen this one though. Never again, promise! *grovels*
The awkwardness of the first episode was definitely over *g*. I'm still hoping we'll get to see the date though!

Date: 2008-01-24 10:46 am (UTC)The damn AfterElton people made a pictorial tribute, and the very last picture just about undid me.
(I'm also really upset about the 'lovely' people of the WBC, who have said that they will picket the funeral and have made some pretty fucking evil comments. I'd rant, but I can only fit so much shaking rage in a comment. So, I'll focus on crunching numbers instead. It's how I handle stuff.)
