I'm a little bit in love with Balthamos.

Heh. I wanted to keep it mysterious, but Kennedy kind of spoiled in his comment. If you're really curious you can read that, but I advise you to continue His Dark Materials and your question will be answered in part 3 *g*

One reason I'm so sad that it looks like the other films aren't being made is because I would have loved to have seen the fundies burst into flames over two gay angels who are presented as lovers and heroes.

Heh. When I admitted my love, I didn't know about his relationship with Baruch yet*. I fell for his sarcasm and the way he responds to Will's orders. I could totally picture Alan Rickman playing him.

Now that I have started to appreciate Lyla, should I watch the film? I am in awe of the whole Dust-concept, but that's not really part of the first book yet, is it? I fear there may be too much emphasis on the adventure instead of the philosophy.

*Don't worry, you didn't spoil me, I didn't read this comment until after I found out;) But since I'm still in the middle of the story, please be careful with references to content. I'm hoping to finish the third book next week.

Obviously 'Lyla' = Lyra. I should really get a paid account.
