That is just amazing! I have always wanted to make a mosaic, but brushed it off to be too much job (which I guess it is... well, if not too much, because that is just about having patiense, but it's a lot of work....), but now I am inspired to do so!

Isn't it supercool? This week I started an assignment on the Mac at work that got me all inspired to look for things I could do on my PC at home. I suppose you could try it all from scratch, but you should know there are easy programs out there to play with.

I used the share ware version of Mosaic Maker. You can use it for free for 30 days. The program takes care of the rendering of the pictures, while you can decide on shapes and other features.
You need a lot of pictures for the most life-like result, but it's fun to try out all the options.

I guess I can try Mosaic Maker, at least as a start.... and then see what I'll do later. Part of the challenge is actually doing things from scratch (when the idea is to give myself a challenge, rather then working towards a end result in the most efficiant way possible).

I do, but I don't need it to make these;) I'd love to take all the credit for the fancy trickery, but all I had to do was give instructions and wait for the result, really. *hugs computer* (And it's not like it was a burden to collect the pictures. It was a lot more fun than the project at work that inspired me to try this at home. I can only hope the bookcover I'm working on will be as pretty;)
