Keywords: TurksFruit my first fantasy
A scene from Paul Verhoeven classic film 'Turkish Delight' (1973) with Monique van de Ven and Rutger Hauer. Based on the autobiographical novel by Jan Wolkers about the whirlwind romance between a sculptur and his model. All these people are worldfamous in the Netherlands and rightly so. (Hey, you may even have heard of some of them working outside of our borders;)
The whole story is heartbreaking and all does not end well, but this scene never fails to make me smile; after an argument Olga and Eric make up in the rain. Passionately. \o/

A Panic At The Disco icon that may not be obvious for those of you who are not familiar with the band, but fangirls know;) How California is this assessment of singer Brendon Urie, who was judging a contest? I find it endearing. Such an enthused boy. *ruffles his hair* (I know, I know, he's originally from Nevada, whatever: it's all American speech to me;)

I made a whole series of icons when I found my old doodles. I've always had a preference for skulls and gore. The quote is from Buffy; when Willow is found out drawing a mystical sign, she tries to hide it and pretends it's just a doodle. So cute.

Another film based on a book by Jan Wolkers: Zomerhitte (2008), with Waldemar Torenstra and Sofie Hildebrand (who are in a relationship in real life as well and are expecting their first baby, ahw). Directed by actress Monique van de Ven (see Turks Fruit icon above!). Author Jan Wolkers died while the film was in production. I had only just started to appreciate his work; Turks Fruit was on my readinglist in highschool, but back then I thought it was too outspoken, I guess I wasn't ready for all the explicit sex-scenes yet;)
Although Zomerhitte was a bit of a silly thriller, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and the film. Not in the least because Waldemar and Sofie are both so very awesome (and totally part of my fantasy threesome).

I spent so much time fiddling with this picture, I ended up with two icons. It's a very young Jensen Ackles black/white shot (I added the colours to his shirt and the background) and he is very twinky and bitable, it makes me giggle. (You can appreciate the original here:)

Keywords: JonFuckingStewart I need a daily dose of this man
This is one of my original set of six icons. Jon Stewart has so many usable faces for userpics. I love him dearly. Also for content of course; I keep up with the Daily Show online (we only get butchered bits on the Dutch version of Comedy Central). The quote on the icon was made at the Grammy Awards in 2001, when he owned up to not being very good at hosting. I've heard him joke about presenting the Oscars too, but I must say I enjoyed it very much. Then again: I like almost everything he does:)

I watched the tv-series religiously in the seventies and would have sworn Pippi Langkous was Dutch. How strange it was to find out the thing was dubbed! And even more of a surprise to find out the voice of Tommy was a woman;) I crushed on him and Pippi, I always though Annika was too whiney. Recently the series was repeated, it is still fun to watch. And I still believe they all speak Dutch *grins*.

Nope. Still don't watch SuperNatural; somehow the series just doesn't work for me. Which doesn't mean I completely ignore it; every now and then Sillie tries to convert me with a marathon session, but so far I'm not a fangirl. However: the actors are very amusing and pretty, so I included them in my userpic collection. Fine, I admit it: I also read a lot of fanfiction of the Real Person Slash category. Come on, how can you not be in awe of Jensen's mouth? It's begging for action. Nom.

One of my most personal icons; this is my woobie. It goes with me when I'm on a sleepover or traveling all over the world. It will then be dressed in a big handkerchief by way of super-cape. When I forgot to bring it once, I had to put a picture of it online, so I can always find it when I'm far away (provided there is internet nearby...). It's a piece of home *snuggles*.

As seen in my Zomerhitte and Bliss icon: actor Waldemar Torenstra is amazing; he has the best butt of the Netherlands (possibly the world), is an adorkable presenter (he stutters!), has the best girlfriend (Sofie, see above) and most importantly: he is a very impressive actor (he doesn't stutter in character). Cute is an understatement.


Keywords: Ernie&Bert IDEK What? He's hiding his nose. It's a game.
Made this last week. Every morning I have breakfast with the news and a bit of Sesame-street. When I saw this skit between Bert and Ernie I grabbed my camera, because what the fuck? They always crack me up, of course because of the hilarious original material, but also thanks to Dutch voices Wim T. Schippers (Ernie) and Paul Haenen (Bert).
In the scene before this one Ernie is hiding his ears, unfortunately I didn't get a good picture of this. The punchline is that he isn't in fact hiding his nose, but his neck. For me the joke is the "sock". Yuhuh, that's what it is. *giggles*
