Oh CSI, every time I'm strapping myself in to be dissapointed you raise the bar for awesome. Jeebus. What a winner episode.
I must admit I feared for Henry at the start and was actually annoyed by the guys. Nick of all people should know what it feels like to be ambushed like that. *glares* I guess they all got over their issues with scary places. Also: why wasn't Archie there in stead of Hodges? Kind of a strange group-dynamic, if you ask me.
But enough with the bitching: as it turned out, this was an AWESOME episode with a plot that kept everyone on their toes (Yes, I also mean the Jekyl story-line, even though I mostly used that B-case as an opportunity to breathe:)
As for the chemistry and subtext between Nick and Greg? Overwhelmingly present. I was thrilled to see Greg doing his McGyver and even though Nick was a little too triggerhappy, I loved him as Texan tough guy with the gun an' all.
Seperately the guys were on a roll, together they sparkled. And -dayum- did they look good all over.
There was touching (nice cover up with the 'closed'-note, Nick;) and there were looks, but best of all was Nick giving Greg a 'leg up' and watching him climb up that pole.
There aren't enough words to capture all the subtext in this episode, it surpassed the text in many moments. Last week's bowling was merely foreplay compared with this slashfest. \o/
P.S.
artistic_sillie I got your card today: pretty (and appropriate;) thank you! What's the last episode we saw together? We need to set a date for the next CSI/SPN-marathon (as soon as I fix my upstairs-computer/divx-player, mkay?). Anyone else who wants to come over? Let me know!

Date: 2009-12-12 08:21 pm (UTC)Nick of all people should know what it feels like to be ambushed like that. *glares* EXACTLY!!!! And threatened with a knife? Why would Greg do that either?
And where the hell is Archie? And Bobby? I'm starting to get worried.

Date: 2009-12-12 08:32 pm (UTC)I wasn't in on the joke and was really freaked out just by watching that while knowing what had happened before. I can only imagine how Henry felt. Seriously. Guys. What the fuck. Still: I was so relieved they were going for food and not a titty-bar, because that would have been totally OOC for all the men involved. *grins*
I'm worried every time I start watching an episode. I expect canon to crumble any day now after all the happy it's been giving me so far. But I am disappointed about the lack of Archie and Bobby. At least the first one still gets mentioned occasionally, but I fear Bobby is forgotten like continuity. That makes me sad.

Date: 2009-12-12 08:42 pm (UTC)Word. It's scary. And yeah, the continuity? Out the window. Right now the best shows for continuity are NCIS (!!! I know! A CSI knockoff) and Criminal Minds.
That isn't promising.

Date: 2009-12-12 09:18 pm (UTC)I had so much glee with such the teaser! Henry! Boys rolling their car and finding this AWESOME! Nick trusting Greg's orientation skills! Henry! (He got the badabing line, too, aww!)
And ha, that wasn't so much a leg-up as an excuse to grope Greg's butt (and of course Nick and Hodges both took advantage to stare at said butt rather shamelessly. Heeee!
Ohhh, I could go on and on. But I won't! Suffice it to say this episode made me want to recap again.

Date: 2009-12-12 10:08 pm (UTC)I was seriously worried about Henry and was yelling at the guys even more than he was when we found out what was going on. (Don't EVER surprise me like that for my birthday. Djeez.) Ofcourse then they made it all better by being AWESOME.
I loved that Nick was annoyed that Hodges distracted him with non-information while Greg was climbing up.
Ooooh, I'd love one of your recaps for this one. Bunnies, bunnies, it must be bunniiiiiiiiiiies. Ehm. Sorry, felt like belting that one. *innocent look*

Date: 2009-12-13 09:29 am (UTC)Dude, I would never surprise anyone like that, that is a totally sucky thing to do and I wouldn't appreciate it either!
Oh, dude, I forgot to say: I was squealing so hard over the list of true crime shows Higgins was watching: 'stalker to killer', 'I-15 killer', 'murder of the co-ed', 'blood drops'. OMG THESE REFERENCES.
*g* I probably don't have time for a recap today, those things take hours. I wonder if I can still write the boys...
... I need a CSI icon.
