beelikejWeehee, yesterday I watched an old episode of CSI on Dutch channel RTL 5: S4Ep19 Bad Words -with subtitles-. I usually avoid the tv, since I can see the episodes on disk without commercial breaks, but I was very curious to see what the translator would make of the infamous matchbox-scene between Nick and Greg.
The scene was loaded with subtext though (just look at the sparks that are flying between the guys;) and I remember vivid discussions in fandom about what Nick calls Greg when thanking him for his help. Our favorite Texan is known for his use of the word 'Dog' (or 'Dawhg' with his accent;) when talking to Warrick. But that's not what we hear him say to Greg... Here is the scene with the Dutch subtitles, so you can see for yourself;-)
