What I've been doing in my Christmasvacation

I've been pretty much living in J2 land for the past week and enjoyed many awesome AUs. Here are my two favorites.

Overboard has been one of my guilty pleasure movies for years now. The concept is too camp to take seriously, but with all the chemistry involved it ended up being perfect and I can't help but watch it every time it is shown on tv.
So when I discovered an Jensen/Jared AU based on the film, I had to give it a try, even when I was only fed a chapter a day. It was a treat! The whole story is available now and I urge you to read it, whether you've seen the movie or not. It's wonderfully written and full of angst and fun. Oh, I suppose you can call it kid fic, since it's Jensen taking care of his younger siblings, but I'm not a fan of that genre and I loved this, so don't let the family-theme scare you off;)

In between waiting for new chapters of my now favorite fic above, I've read tons more stories, and although I liked most of them not all of them are worth reccing;) But here is another verse I loved, just read the summary:

I'm so not looking forward babysitting the intern again. Only two weeks. Or sooner if she fails to hand in her essay on Tuesday. *fingers crossed*

Thank you, bb. I have to go back to work tonight, too. *sigh* Of course, it will be nice to pick up my paychecks and not have an empty bank account anymore, but I could really do without the actual "work" part of working. :/

It wouldn't be so bad if I had something to do at work, but it's going to be a slow week, right after the holidays. In fact I had so little to do I negotiated starting later tomorrow: I get to sleep in, wahey!
