GIP (with additional artrecs:)

Me and my big mouth. In november I ranted about artwork not getting enough attention in Fanfic challenges, specifically in the Reverse Bang artprompt challenge. I pledged to do better myself and I did indeed comment on all the posted artwork at that time. I also made a reclist for Reverse Bang artwork. But despite my promise to continue commenting and reccing, I failed massively on keeping up. I must humbly admit that I now understand how real life and other online activities can distract from keeping an eye on new fanart.
But I'm going to try and better myself again. I'm not one for New Year's resolutions, but I am going to make an effort to catch up on the artwork for the
spn_reversebang. To start, I made another list of art that's worth your attention.
I present: Reverse Bang Artwork Reclist, the second
Jensen gets hurt in an accident by
artistic_sillie - Colourful pencil drawings tell the story in a collage Sillie really outdid herself with these strong images. I love the combination of wide shots and close ups.
Angels at war by
buni_in_the_sky - Funky comics with black outlines show the anger and frustration of the characters Great composition and facial expressions.
Meremen Jensen and Jared by
ldyghstwhisprer - Beautifully done digital art This is a glorious example of good photomanipulation.
Angels in Greek clothing by
rosivan - Delicate watercoloured pencildrawings Very original style: the pastel colours give it such an airy feel.
Into the Land of Nod by
lupe_lei - Scenes painted in Photoshop Don't let me EVER again hear anyone say how digital paintings are not art. Just look at these pieces, they are splendid. The use of light and shading is beautiful.
Undone by
longerthanwedo - Pencil (charcoal?) drawing on canvas Bold strokes and yet there is so much expression in those big eyes of Dean. And check out Castiel's defeated posture.
Supercross by
dauntdraws - Set of scenes in black and white comicbook style Daunt's style is easily recognizable and I love it. These drawings just hit you in the guts in a very good way. I even read the story, even though I don't usually read that pairing. That's how much of an impression the images make;)
Last but not least, a design not made for the Reverse Bang, but posted in the same period, so I'm including it.
Sweet Desire by
bflyw - Digital art banner with black and white drawing and colourful text Can you believe those candy-letters are not a photo? They are digitally created by the artist. Another example of why you shouldn't snub digital designs. If it's well done you don't even notice the work.
That's it for now. Hopefully there will be a third artrecpost soon.
As usual I'm using this opportunity to promote my own artwork. After all: this is my journal and it serves to ask attention for meeeeeeeee. (All comments are welcomed!)
P.S. As the subject line says, this post started as a Gratuitous Icon Post; just look at that little guy in my new icon. It's the latest photo my brother sent me of his son, my nephew. (I gave him that shirt;) *beams* (all comments are welcomed on that too;)
