Well, at least now I had time to watch the new CSI

A quick update for those who don't follow my Twitter. Thursday morning the invicible ice on the road attacked me while I was cycling to the busstop on my way to work. My bike slid from under me and I fell hard. I caught myself with my left hand.
My arm still hurt like hell today, but a trip to the doctor and consequently x-rays at the radiologist showed that it's not broken. I can't really use it though, so I haven't been able to go to work for two days.
My mom has been a trooper and helped me enormously: helping me get dressed, driving me around and taking care of my housework and groceries. I don't even have to miss out on my trip to Amsterdam tomorrow, because she and her bf will take me there so I can go to the exhibit at The Beurs van Berlage with brotherdearest as planned.

She also brought me loads of chocolate.

I love my mom.

Ice on the road is HELL! I don't cycle to work but still have to walk a lot and it's awful when there's ice. Like now. You're lucky you didn't break your arm.

I know! It could have been a lot worse. Apparently the hospital was run over by injured people yesterday and when I came in today there was a girl who hurt her hand but also hit her face. So glad that wasn't me.

Oh, the new music that's floating around is making me smile (with tears in my eyes for joy;) I'm so happy it didn't disappoint *g* I LIKE IT A LOT!)

Like I said on Twitter, I'm glad your arm isn't broken, but it still sucks that it hurts so much. I'm glad your mom is being awesome though. Yay! for moms! :D

(What did you think of the new CSI, btw. I haven't seen it, but I did see a lot of rumblings going on. :'3)

The new CSI wasn't as bad as everybody is saying, I'm quite sure you'll enjoy it, I liked it just fine. Greg looks amazing;) As for canon: meh. Nothing we can't fix *g*

(Besides: the previous episode was such an overload of N/G goodness, it beats everything that may happen this season;)

I love Nick chastising Greg as though Nick never slept with a hooker. wtf? At least Catherine tried not be hypocritical.

I was pleasantly surprised by Catherine's response, spoken like a true supervisor;)

As for Nick, well he was so OTT macho man, he was obviously a figment of Greg's imagination (In my canon there is an extra scene at the end where it was revealed that this whole case was made up by Greg for the purpose of his new book about vintage Vegas *grins*)

Not being able to type properly and distract myself by blogging or tweeting or any online stuff is making me sad. There is nothing to do but wait (and rest, ha) for the pain to go away.

My mom really is the best. She even braided my hair though she has no experience with that. <3

About a year ago I went through about two or three weeks where my right arm was killing me. I didn't do anything that I knew of to injure it, but the doctor figured I torn a muscle fiber or something. I would wake up in the middle of the night in excruciating pain and be unable to unbend my arm. Arm pain sucks...

I didn't know how much I use my left arm: even though I'm right handed, I miss the support of the left a LOT. And the pain is terrible.
Mom gave me a wine-cooler that I will wrap around my arm for the night. I tried it this evening; it numbs the pain and reduces the swelling almost immediately. My mom has the best ideas;)

Thanks. I'm not recovering as fast as I'd hoped, but my arm has been getting better for the past two days.

The exhibition (about the history of Dutch advertising) was great; brotherdearest and I had loads of fun:)

I hope you're feeling better soon. =) If it helps at all, I've hurt my hand two times, and you learn pretty soon how to do everyday things with just one hand. Though it sounds like you're getting a lot of help, so maybe you don't even need to learn. =)

I'm so glad it's not broken <3. Hope it stops hurting soon though, that has got to be incredibly irritating. *hugs you carefully* Hope all the comfort food, comfort books and comfort shows are helping!

Yeah, me too, although my initial reaction was "so now what?" because there is no obvious treatment plan for this. But the chocolate, books and (virtual) hugs help:)
