Can't believe it has been over a week since I posted. I really shouldn't be pissy about losing flisters to Tumblr, Facebook and Twitter, if I don't even make an effort to reach out myself here on LiveJournal. I had meant to do an update yesterday, but I fell asleep on the couch. I guess work and life had been more exhausting than I'd like to admit.
Am in a bitching mood and to avoid saying things I'll regret later, I'm once again going to let photos do the talking. With additonal personal comments on the side;) Here are pictures of beautiful stuff I saw and experienced in the past few days. (I finally sorted out my Xmas cards! Go me:)

Thursday March 3

Mmmmm, a Bosche Bol. Had a delicious dinner at my mom's and then we went to see The King's Speech in the Arthouse. Great evening:)

On Saturday Mom and I saw Les Amours Imaginaires, a Canadian film about a twentysomething boy and girl who fall for the same guy. Highly recommended for the massive amount of passive aggressiveness; funny and painful:)

Sunday March 6

Finally sorted out my Xmas cards. Ever since university (when I started living on my own;) I kept scrapbooks of all my cards. These days it takes years before a book is filled, since most people nowadays only sent cards for Xmas/New Year's. But it looks like I'm gonna need another book at the end of 2011:)

I was doing the dishes at one end of the kitchen when two bowls decided to kill themselves. The glass one crashed in a million pieces all over the floor and I was trapped on my socks. Luckily I could reach for a sweeper and get out of the kitchen without cutting my feet.
I gave the bowls that are left behind a chance to say goodbye to the remains of their partners.

After that disaster I found comfort at my mom's house, where brotherdearest and the other brother, his wife and my nephew Ruben were gathered for good talks, food and pooping (apparently my lap feels like the best toiletseat EVER: that kid has still got a lot to learn *glares*) Good weekend after all.

Wednesday March 10
I couldn't decide which shot I liked best, so I'm posting both:

The by now well known view of the Dedemsvaart from the bridge I cross to get to the busstop. I love how the sunbeams radiate from behind the clouds.

I like this one for the bird flying through from the left; it makes the huge clouds look even more impressive.

Thursday March 11

Went to cityhall to get my renewed driver's license. Did you know I am also allowed to ride a moped? Heh. Probably should avoid that as much as a car (I have only driven a couple of times when I got my license over fifteen (twenty?) years ago...). I'm happy to keep riding my bike, even if I had to spent over an hour cycling from the busstop to cityhall and on to the supermarket and home;)

A close up of that piece of art on the roof. I love the design of a light in the shape of a lamp:)

Friday March 12

Hi! It's me at the busstop:) Look at my long legs. *grins*

Cycling home from the busstop in Z. I had to stop and take some pictures of the patterns in the sky.

The moon!

Okay, last one (I have more on request though;)

And finally: a summary of the week. From left to right (top to bottom)
Winq = my favorite magazine. FYI: "Piemelpraat" = Penistalk;)
Drivers' License (used to be a long piece of papier, now it's creditcard style)
Life DVD box was a present for opening a new saving's account.
New book Ons Derde Lichaam (will hopefully post review of related book soon)
HUGE bar of chocolate (bought for the design of the wrapping, honest)
Baby Ruben in his bear-suit, MOST ADORABLE BABY EVER.
Surprise egg + Card from mom
New underwear (my favorite knickers now come in new colours, I hope to find a purple one in my size next week)

See. My life ain't that bad. It sucks that I let myself get bitter and disappointed about things I have no control over. Like the recent lack of response to the Nick/Greg classic scenes I post every Tuesday *pouts*. Seriously: if there are any CSI fangirls left: I'd love for you to come over and reminisce. I miss the good old days of squee.

I know the world is on fire, but it really should go without saying that this bothers me. This LJ and my blog will always mostly be a place for selfish woe and escapism.
Obviously I'm with Brendon on the issue of disaster.

Thanks for reminding me that I have a CSI episode to watch!

WOW girl - you are amazing with the cards!

Hey - take it as a compliment that your nephew think your lap is the best toilett-seat ever! It must mean he is really comfortable with you. Everyone knows how hard it is to poop when you don't feel comfortable! LOL

Same here - I know the world is on fire, I do care - A lot!!! - but my LJ stays free of mentioning it right now, because I needed a "me place" as well - doesn't mean I don't care about other people.

Hee! I caught up on the last two episodes tonight. Good thing I did a double feature, because one of those didn't have any Nick/Greg interaction *pouts* Not that I only watch for them, but I just love seeing them together;)

Yeah, the nephew is excused for now, even though I had to change my opinion on the smell of babies :-p

Ruben! So BIG now! And you're right...he's (very nearly) the cutest baby ever! (Right behind Chloe!)

I match your bear with my elephant!

I miss the old days of CSI. I am actually working on a fic with the guys. It'll probably be months before I get it done, tho!

I was afraid I had missed him growing, but as it turned out he will be a baby for a while, even if he was a lot bigger than two months ago when I last saw him;) We had a premiere though: Ruben held his own head up and tried to look around while laying on his belly, woohoo!

Awh, a Chloe-elephant, that is awesome!

I love going back to old episodes, but I do miss the old fangang, the new fans don't seem to be up to date with the past, which is a shame. History is very important for characterdevelopment. Oh Nick and Greg, you'll always be my OTP.

Oh, the newcomers! The problem with them is that they don't know the Nick and Greg history! ::sigh:: I just cannot make myself read the "new" Nick and Greg. I don't know them.

Isn't it odd how we fanfic'ers 'own' our characters as we write (and read what fellow ficcers write) them? Like that is the true character! I still love to read the rare treats that come along from my favorite writers. I will always cling to the 'boys' as my own OTP as well!

Yeah, work and other grown up stuff have taken up a lot of my time, as has the healing of my broken arm. But as I gain control over my body and life, I will get back to paying attention to the flist, even if they are distracted by other fandoms and social networks;)

Sorry I haven't been around :(. With how bad my laptop screen is, reading text is super hard on my eyes, so I mostly stick to tumblr (picture posts) and twitter (on my phone). I will do my best to be better!

(And thanks for doing a picture post :D!)

I don't know how long I would survive with a crooked computer, so I'm glad you're hanging in there. And even though I'm not using Tumblr and Twitter like I'm supposed to, at least I know you're out there:)

Urgh, I've been very bad at updating my Lj as well. Still reading the flist though, not commenting as much as I want to, but my thoughts are a jumbled mess right now.

Anyway, pictures! :D Oooh, that's a very good idea, putting cards in a scrapbook. I'm always keeping the cards I get as well. Might just go ahead and do that as well. (Spotted two of my cards! \o/)
Ruben definitely looks adorable in his bearsuit.

Oh man, the Classic posts. That's one of the things I mean to comment on, but then I forget. >_<;

How's your arm doing btw?

During the day I often write whole posts in my head, but then when I finally sit down I just don't have the energy. I totally understand you having trouble to put your thoughts into words at the moment (How's the family doing?) *hugs*

The books with cards are the second thing I'd take if there ever was a fire (photo-albums would be first;) - they are such an awesome record of my friends and family's history. Plus cards are pretty;)

It's been very quiet in the N/G comm the past couple of weeks, it's killing my inspiration for classic squee posts *pouts* On the other hand: I'm enjoying Season 11, so yay!\o/

My arm is still not completely healed; I had hoped to be able to get on my regular bike again this week, but the elbow is not cooperating. I'm clinging to the prognoses of 3-4 months, but I hadn't really expected it would take that long, grrrr.
