Mom came over for dinner; I made 'my' spinach/macaroni/bacon dish, she brought dessert (yoghurt/quark with pear and honey). We then cycled to the arthouse (I lent her one of my bikes) to see Beginners with Ewan McGregor (son) and Christopher Plummer (his dad). What a lovely film. It made my mom cry. No extreme emotions for me, but it was a pleasure to watch these fine gentlemen on the big screen. I also liked Mélanie Laurent and Goran Visnjic (hey hi!) in their supporting roles. As I personally don't like to know too much about the content of a film, I won't give you a summary. There are plenty of places online where you can find more about the story;) If you like a good dose of melancholy, I highly recommend this film.

I'd really like to see that film, unfortunately it's not yet decided a release date in Norway for this film.
--- and yet they wonder why we dl so much in this country - where we often are a year behind in TV series, and months (at best) behind in films. *sigh*

I had already made reservations before I got recommendations, I wanted to see it for Christopher Plummer alone. Ewan McGregor and the great story were a bonus;) I hope you manage to catch it, on the big screen or any other way. (although since it's qualified as an arthouse film it may not be on offer anywhere? I don't know, I only dl CSI these days;)

Ooo, glad to hear you liked it so much. I've been hearing nothing but good things about it! Alas, I cannot afford too many movie theatre visits, and I already made plans in the next few months to see Tintin, We Bought A Zoo and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Because, unf. Uuuuunf.

I hope you can make it one of your visits anyway, it's the loveliest movie I've seen this year.
My picks from the Arthouse in November are
Rabat, Code Blue, Margin Call and Isabelle
