I cycled through Amsterdam yesterday :)

I didn't realize I hadn't posted in a while; I was too busy dealing with hormonal storms:) Happy to say the body is back on schedule now and it looks like I won't have any hassles when I go on my five day trip to the UK in two weeks, yay!
Speaking of storms, we had some crazy ones here in the Netherlands the past few weeks. I already posted a photo of a black sunset sky in my Tumblr, but here it is again together with a more regular sunset, so you can better understand how impressive the black clouds were;)

Stormy sunset, January 3.

Wintery sunset, January 6.
It seems like the crazy rains have stopped now, because since this weekend we got wintery blue skies. It's cold, but dry: great weather for a trip to Amsterdam, where I went yesterday to visit brotherdearest to admire his new dinnertable and of course to catch up;) He offered me a bike to go into town, which is really the best way to explore the city (I so loved the Vondelpark, didn't know it was that big!). Hans even joined me, which was not only great for the company, but also because he knew the fastest route to all the shops on my list. While he waited outside with our bikes, I was able to quickly go in and out for my stuff \o/
When I go on these special shoppingexpeditions I always take into account that some of the things on my wishlist are no longer available, but strangely enough the only shop where I was disappointed was the one I didn't expect. Apparently Lush is no longer selling Pied de Pepper! (But the shopgirl said they might still have it in stock in England, so guess what I'm gonna be doing when I go there? Fingers crossed!)
Luckily I was able to get all the other items, including spare old fashioned lightbulbs for my chandelier (Hey, I tried those new energy saving ones, but they look hideous, so as long as there is no alternative, I'm stocking up on almost illegal bulbs). After brotherdearest and I had a delicious sit down at Bagels & Beans, we had time left for a visit to funky store DOM, where I got the awesomest glittery skulls. So cool.
Around 17.30 we cycled back to Hans' apartment and said goodbye. Then I got on a tram back into the city to go to the tiny Uitkijk arthouse for 'The Artist'.
I got a tram back to the station around nine and had time to get a slice of pizza (with shoarma:) and a bottle of lemon yoghurt before catching the 21.26 train back to Zwolle. MMMM.
It was a GREAT day and I got home with a bag full of goodies *grins* Who wants to see pictures of all of the above?
Oh, also? I signed up for the 2012 edition of
spn_j2_bigbang. Woohoo!
Also, also: I already finished three regular books and am almost done with another one! *proud*

Also, I don't know what a Smartshop is. Enlighten me, please!

Date: 2012-01-16 10:09 pm (UTC)Ehm, a Smartshop is where Brendon would go if he didn't have a guy. Kind of like a coffeeshop, but including tools and I believe they also sell mushrooms (amongst other things). DON'T TELL HIM THAT I KNOW THESE THINGS BECAUSE I PLAN TO LURE HIM AWAY FROM EVIL WITH CHOCOLATE AND THEN HE WILL BE PURE AND INNOCENT AGAIN.
