After some stalling I finally managed to make a selection of my concertpictures. I was a little apprehensive sharing these, because a lot of them are blurry and I felt silly even being happy with them. It took me some time to reach that point where I say "fuck it, it's my journal and my experience and I WAS THERE, YAY, LOOK IT!" As usual I felt the need to explain my choices, so there is some text too. It could have been worse: I could have shared all my photos (let's say there are more than 100 and leave it at that) not to mention all my fangirlfeelings;) but I narrowed it down to 27 to tell my story. I tried to keep the squee down to a minimum *evil laughter*
01.
After dinner at The Hatchet Inn, around 17.20
tanisafan and I walked to the venue where we found a long line of fans...
02.
Luckily we didn't have to go to the end of the cue: we joined the group right up front, waiting for the Meet & Greet! (Oooh, look: the band's equipment;)
About half an hour later Zack gathered us, handed out wristbands and when he found out we couldn't get our tickets until 7, he went in to the box office to pick them up, so we didn't have to go outside again after meeting the band, wahey!
Finally we were let inside, Zack did his "don't be creepy and grab Brendon's ass" speech (once again mentioning that you can "bounce a quarter of that thing", mean) and then the guys came in to sit behind a table so we could all get something signed. (I made a commemorative hanky again and Spencer remembered me bringing one to previous signing sessions!). I had brought the guys CD's of the first band I ever fangirled, back in the -ehm- eighties, because I told myself this would be the last time I'd go to their concert and I wanted some sort of closure - hahaha.
Anyway, Dallon was very interested in hearing what kind of music it was. I explained Doe Maar played a mix of ska and reggae and he said 'cool'. Spencer thanked me and then I focused on telling Brendon about the Nederwiet song ("Dutch weed", shut up, I did not corrupt him) which he was very enthused about. Little fucker (again: shut up *shoves*). The one CD I had left for Ian had a cover with a penis on it, which seemed to amuse him. Tan later told me he was showing it to Brendon and they were both giggling about it, when I had already moved on to give Zack some smurf-chocolate (long story). I hope they didn't think that was meant as inspiration for their next album cover.
*sighs* Those guys, people. Those guys. I'm not so sure this was my last concert ever, even though the tiny fangirlies (who had brought their dads ffs) make me realize how old I am. Eh, whatever.
Look: I got to take photo with the band! \o/\o/\o/
03.
Because I wanted to do something different than my last M&G photo I came up with the idea to feature my Rock 'n' Roll Nerd hoodie (which I passionately love), so I asked the guys to give me their impression of a R 'n' R Nerd. Brendon obviously wins (because he totally is one;)
*chinhands*
04.
After the M&G our little group was allowed to find a spot at the barrier. But I had already experienced that in Antwerp and even though you get an awesome view of the band, I didn't really want to be on my own up front, while Tan was in the back. So we found ourselves a more relaxed spot from which we still had an excellent view, but with less pushing:)
05.
About another hour later the venue was packed. See the lower balcony on the other end: that's a mirror image of where we were standing. Perfect spot.
Oh, also: we had a good view of the audience, so before the bands got in we got treated to some good snogging (boy/girl and boy/boy, didn't see a set of girls, unfortunately;)
06.
Opening band ME was pretty good. Great voice and enthused performance. I approve. (Plus they're total Panic!fanboys, yay)
07.
Ladies and gentlemen: Panic! at the Disco!
From left to right: Ian on guitar, Brendon singing (for now), Spencer on drums and Dallon on bass.
Ahw, they brought props! Cool setdesign, actually. Setlist Bristol
08.
I also liked the lighting and their fancy dress.
09.
One of my favorite shots, because of Brendon'sapplebottom shadow in the background.
(I'm not telling you how many photos I made trying to capture that;)
10.
Brendon doing a backflip. I didn't even know what he was going to do, he freaked me out a little. That boy.
11.
He drums too! Look at him going at it with Ian; they are hitting so fast, you can see repeating drumsticks!
12.
This is the bit where the rest of the band takes a break: Brendon singing "Always" and smiling like crazy when the whole audience sings along. Ahw.
13.
Dallon looking mighty fine plus a great view on the steampunk setdesign.
14.
Because smile.
15.
16.
17.
Brendon and Dallon smushing noses together.
18.
My heart. (And unrelated: his pants, wtf?)
19.
I'm guessing Mona Lisa? Loved how the lighting had the same rhythm as the beat.
20.
Ian and Dallon switched places for a song or two.
21.
Brendon said the next song had to be sung naked, so he took his shirt off. As you do.
(The Darkness cover I Believe In A Thing Called Love)
22.
Hello. Apart from looking good (albeit pale and skinny;) Brendon sounded great too, his voice was more powerful than last year and he seems to be able to capture the high notes even better. Dayum, boy.
23.
Because posture.
24.
Dork Brendon shooting every one with his guitar gun.
25.
This makes me thirsty.
26.
Yes, Dallon is rubbing Brendon's nipple. Tease.
27.
My fangirl loot! (and some touristy stuff from Bristol)
The End.

Date: 2012-02-13 08:39 pm (UTC)That's exactly as funny as when I said I was going to Harrod's but I wouldn't buy anything :p.
The backflip photo is still the best one EVER. SO MANY BRENDONS.
I also really love the second to last one because a) his SMILE and b) Brendon's is in focus while everyone else is blurred and it looks super artsy and awesome.
Now if you'll excuse me. *goes back to looking at that picture where the light hits Brendon's crotch all Interestingly*

That picture needs to be studied intensively. *joins you*

*chinhands* These boys and their music.
