A day at home

After four nights with interupted sleep because the throatinfection turned into the barking cough from hell, I had already called in sick yesterday evening, so I would at least not have to worry about that at night. Still didn't sleep very well of course. I don't think I've ever had a headcold this bad. I don't remember it ever affecting my sleep so much. Tonight I woke up with all the bones in my face hurting like someone had punched me and it took hours to get back to sleep. I'm exhausted from the coughing and then the coughing keeps me awake. How ironic. My voice obviously still isn't back to normal, but at least I still have sound; I only lost it completely for one day this time. Fingers crossed it's here to stay now.

I'm still slightly in shock about what happened fifteen minutes ago: I went to the toilet to pee and when I sat down, without warning snot started pouring from my nose like a waterfall. What the hell? Luckily I had a hanky hidden up my sleeve, but before I could reach it there was already a puddle of snot on the floor. A. PUDDLE. OF. SNOT. GROOOOOSSS. I'm trying to keep my head still, but after each cough attack the snot starts running again. Hope I'm not caught in a never ending cycle of snot-cough-snot-sneeze-snot-cough. Yuck.

I tried to do some artwork; I still have to finish a set for my second author at the Reverse Bang. I'm confident I'll get a satisfying design together on time (Monday Nov.26), but not sure about today's sketches; my head is so full of snot, it's hard to focus on pretty. *pouts* I think I'm gonna go snuggle on the couch for a bit. Be gone, evil headcold, be gone!

Yuck. You possibly know this but if the bones in your face are hurting you probably have a sinus infection and need antibiotics. It's a bitch to get rid off otherwise.

Actually, I did not know that, so thanks for bringing that option to my attention! I did some research and I think you may be right. However as it turns out antibiotics are not encouraged here, so I'll try the recommended alternative remedies I found and hope for the best. *hugs*
