Still waiting for official confirmation from the community mods, but if you're on my flist, you can already sneak a peek at my second set of artwork for the spn_reversebang! It inspired a sweet highschoolstory with a pinch of teen angst: How to do teenage drama the right way and still come out on top. Come over to ogle and read!

In the mean time I'm getting ready for our Sinterklaas celebrations. It's time to start on surprise wrappings and poems for my family! Oh and I still have to buy a couple of presents, oops. Better make a to-do list...

So what's your next challenge? I've only got three more arty things to post this year, *phew!* but like the idiot I am, I went and signed up for j2_everafter, so I've already started adding things to my plate for 2013. *will never learn*

Wow, you're busy! I thought I was doing quite a few fandom things, but you win:)

First I have to work on an offline challenge: we are celebrating Sinterklaas next weekend (the Dutch version of Xmas - Santa is based on the same Saint Nick;). Instead of just handing out presents, we make surprise packages and accompanying poems (about the recipient's year). My family tends to make quite elaborate wrappings so that's gonna keep me busy this week. (scroll down my 'sint'-tag for examples from previous years;)

After that I need to work on my present for the spn_j2_xmas exchange. That's the last fandom thing for this year. Well, if you don't count the Xmas cards I'm making *grins*

For 2013 I already signed up for the john_w_bigbang but claiming for that doesn't start until February, I think.

Yup, 2012 was a busy year and I've just realized that I might have an arting problem -- I've already filled up two whole presentation books (48 pages each, ffs!) with art from 2012 alone, and the last few pieces are going to move me into a THIRD book. Yikes! The old Muse was really zooming on crack this year -- hope he calms the frick down next year. Or maybe I don't hope for that. More experience means better arting, right? So what if I suck the last drops of ink out of every marker I own? This is FUN! XD

Yeah, spn_j2_xmas is up next for me, too -- once I finish the Sassy stuff, anyway. (I did deancas_xmas last year, so it's only fair the boys get their turn this year.) ;) I kinda tore my hair out over that one for a while, but my head finally fell into the Christmas spirit, thank Chuck.

. . . john_w_bigbang, you say? Is it only John, or is JDM allowed, too? ;)

No, we don't design the paper, we build fake covers to wrap/hide the real present in. Something that may look like an item on the receiver's wishlist or something to represent events that happened to them. For instance I once made a globe for my traveling SIL (I hid a travelguide under it) and huge earphones for my brother (I put guitarpicks inside) :-) Can't tell you what I'm making this year, but there will be pictures of the whole event afterwards.

I already have an idea for the xmas exchange, I just hope I can actually visualize it to my satisfaction...

Seeing as I'm more of a Jeff-girl than a John-girl, I'm happy to say that both of them are centered in the john_w_bigbang challenge. You know you want to join, you know it;) *lures you in with JDM and cupcakes*

That cookie would be too complicated for me to try, but I am gonna do another baking experiment tonight. For tomorrow's Sinterklaas celebrations I'm baking 'pepernoten / kruidnoten'... Dundundunnnnn.
