Today it was back to work and getting up early, pffff. Shot some nice photos of the moon, while waiting for the bus this morning and discovered turkeys in a yard I walked by on the way to work! Was going to do a picture post, but with LJ being wonkey, I'll save that until later.

After eating only green Granny Smiths and yellow Golden Delicious for years, I tried a new apple today; it was red and yellow, but is called The Pink Lady. How fancy is that? It tasted quite delicious: a nice mix between sweet and sour. Am adding it to my diet (I eat an apple every afternoon around 16.30, I like having a schedule for food;)

Finished a second book already! All My Friends Are Superheroes by Andrew Kaufman. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] tanisafan; I already loved the title and cover, the story was cool too:) I read it on the bus back and forth to work and even had time left to start in a new book. Will continue tomorrow in The Name Of This Book Is Secret by Pseudonymus Bosch.

Work was busy as hell, but this day scores quite a lot of good points for reading and also doing chores. (While watching tv I folded my laundry, hung up a new calender and fitted a new candle in the loo:) I feel very accomplished.

I *love* Pink Ladies! They're so delicious! And Boo for working for a living. There's got to be a better way. If only I could figure one out!

Oh, yeah...if you can get them there you might consider trying Jazz and Honey Crisp apples. Both crisp, sweet and tart. Lovely.

I've had two more Pink Ladies so far and it's getting easier to cut and bite them every time; I'm still hesitant to eat red(ish) apples, I'm superficial such a creature of habit.
Oooh, I think I saw an apple with 'honey' in its name as well, may try that later, after I get used to the new color in my diet *grins*

You know that if you peel them they aren't red anymore...right? :)

I applaud your culinary exploration and hope that you continue. It's going to open up worlds of good eating and adventure that you'll be so happy to be part of!

Heehee, yes, but I like apples better with their skin on:)

Not into naked apples, I see. Prude!

Oh man, I love the Pink Lady variety! We did a lab where we taste-tested a bunch of different apple varieties in my Orchard Management class, and that was the one that we all ranked the highest. My mom likes the Jonagold and Honeycrisp varieties as well :)

I'm not surprised it came in high; it's quite a distinct and delicious flavor. The only reason I never tried it was its red(ish) colour; I'm simply more fond of green;) It takes time for me to try new things, but I must admit 'honeycrisp' sound rather good.

Also: taste testing must be one of the best lab assignments EVER!

Ha, yes, it is quite a quick read, I thought it was really nicely thought out though <3.

And I actually bought Pink Ladies yesterday for the first time in years! TWIN SOULS, WHAT.

*high fives*
Hello, Pink Lady! (Wish I had a Grease icon;)

It was a fun read especially because it was so unusual: great quirky characters! It also made me want to reread Hero by Perry Moore. First more new books though:)
