This was an exciting weekend

Yesterday I traveled to The Hague with my mom to spend the day with my brother and his family:) Mom didn't know my brothers and I had arranged to all get together to surprise her, so she didn't expect to see my youngest brother there as well. She still didn't suspect a set up and happily continued playing with her grandchild (He is getting so big! Last week he had his first haircut; all the baby curls are now gone:)

After lunch and a visit to the nearby shopping center to buy books for Bookweek (you get a free book with your purchase, it's a ten day celebration of reading:) we finally told her we had a surprise. Seeing as we just got back from the shops, she thought we bought her a book. When we handed her a travelguide and told her we were taking her to Australia in December, she was lost for words. \o/ I guess it was a succesful surprise *grins*

After my mom manages to get days off from work, we'll make more detailed plans. My brother and his family are going to Sydney to visit the in-laws for the holidays, they will take my mom. I will fly in later to accompany her back home. I'm hoping to explore some undiscovered parts of Australia before I join my family. Let the planning begin!

The kid is absolutely adorable when he's awake, but definitely the sweetest when he's asleep *grins*

It's all very exciting! My mom still thinks it's a dream;) Let's hope we can live up to that.
