Today I was a bit spaced out. Able to do my job, but still... not quite there. I don't know what was going on in my brain, but it felt good ;-)
Finished Truman Capote's Breakfast At Tiffany's, I liked the story and his writing, but this novel didn't strike me as spectacular. Maybe I should watch the movie to understand what the fuss was about? I do want to read more of his books though, too bad they are pretty hard to find here. Hopefully I can persuade brother dearest to buy me some:)
Forgot to mention the book I read before this: You Remind Me Of Me by new writer Dan Chaon. A compelling story about twenty-something Jonah and thirty-something Troy who don't know each other, but they have the same mother. Troy is the eldest brother, he was adopted and never knew his mom. Jonah was brought up by her and constantly reminded of the baby she had before him. After she dies he decides to try and find Troy.
Not only is it a very interesting story, the language is beautiful as well. I also liked the structure: the story is told from different perspectives and not in chronological order: it jumps from past to present to in between. It was an intense read. I highly recommend it.
