I'm huddling close to the computer, because that is next to the only heater I can get to work. (That's my excuse). Tomorrow a technician will come over to check the heating-system. Should be here sometime between 08:00 and noon.... Good thing I have nothing planned but fiddling with ReverseBang designs;)
Per the rules I can't show you what I'm working on, but I do want to share the marvelous new light table I managed to score from work (we're clearing out old machines and furniture to make room for new office space).

Isn't it a beauty? It has two sets of bright lights and can be turned completley vertical too.
This is just a temporary set up by the way, I may need to redecorate before I decide on a definite place in my backroom.
It's a perfect tool for the kind of paper art I've been experimenting with:) *hugs*
Speaking of experiments; I've also been playing with my camera a bit more. You've seen the zoom-tests (#1 #2) - here's a set of light-tests. When the autumn sun was coming through the air-holes in the stairway to the attic, I couldn't resist trying to grab the shadows it created.

My camera restisted and insisted the light was too bright to capture shades. Pfff.

So then I carefully approached the airholes from the side....

... and by trying different angles, I managed to capture the pattern I wanted \o/

Look how pretty!

LOOK! *_*
The camera had a hard time understanding what I wanted and it kept changing the intensity of the light (iso?). See the short video-clip below:
No zoom, no manual changes, this is simply my Canon Ixus 140HS callibrating on its own!
I haven't figured out how to overrule these adjustments yet, will keep playing!
Started rereading The Hunger Games today, because I plan to rewatch the film with J. this weekend (as preparation for a future cinema visit to sequel Catching Fire). I'm in love with Katniss all over again. *happy sigh*
We plan to watch a selection of films varying from blockbusters to art-house films, that either one of us recommended to the other but we never had time to watch before. More about that later. Until the weekend I'll be busy with finishing touches on my second RB-entry. I have tomorrow and Friday off, so that should give me enough time to get it ready. (I was tempted to make a third prompt, but I won't. I need to keep some of my sanity;)

Have fun with Katniss! I'm glad she holds up the second time around, heh.

Date: 2013-10-17 07:05 am (UTC)Even with the light off, a tilting table is pretty useful for me...
Damn Katniss already made me choke up twice. I have about 100 pages to go, so will finish the book today, in time to recover before I watch the film this weekend.
