If you're following my Tumblr, you've already heard my squee; remember that glorious John Winchester/Azazal chibi that was made for me? I discovered [livejournal.com profile] dephigravity has a Society6 shop that puts his drawings on all kinds of stuff and I got myself this glorious mug:

HOW COOL IS THAT? There is a link to the shop at the top of dephigravity's tumblr;)

More traintravelphotos!
As requested here are some pics (7) from the interior of that train from Perth to Sydney

The carriage from my end at the start of the journey. I'm standing with my back against the wall. These are the cheap seats:)

See how dirty my window is? *pouts* On the plus side: extra leg room! The seats don't have legrests, but can be adjusted and turned almost horizontal.

Two photos: on the left the shower, on the right the toilet; yes I had a good view of that, resulting in having to help a lot of people opening the door (it got stuck a lot). Sneaker is my neighbour John's. He was nice: when he introduced himself he asked if I wanted the bad news or the good news first. He said he snored (didn't notice that) and he had a lot of lollies (with is Australian for candy;).

There was a big toilet/shower combo at the front end; we were asked to not use this shower to avoid having to mop the floor. Some people also got confused by the automatic lock on the door, so there was an extra curtain to prevent surprises;)

The lay-out of my carriage.

The cafetaria for the Red seats; we were not allowed in the other three restaurants on the train; those were reserved for Gold and Platinum travelers.

In Adelaide the seats were turned around so we wouldn't have to travel backwards. So I no longer had a wall in front of me to put my legs up. John got off the train here, so I got another neighbour. Later I found out there were more seats available so I slept in a double seat;)

If you can't get enough of travelpics, I went to Amsterdam on Friday (March 28) to see my brother's girlfriend in a play (awesome!). Had some time beforehand for shopping, exploring and dinner with brotherdearest. Here are a couple of photo's:)

Oooh, so interesting. I think a train trip would be so awesome. I found it particularly interesting the price differences (as you stated in previous post) and one very cool fact that they switched the seats around. Looks like you got a good seat, being able to stretch out my legs would be key to making it a comfortable trip if it's a long one.

I was also intrigued to see the bathroom and shower set up. I had wondered about that.

Your neighbor John sounds like a considerate fellow, another key to having a good trip!

And yay! Photos of Amsterdam!! You always take such great photos of architecture - I love it!! And nom nom that pizza of yours looked delicious!

Thanks you so much for sharing these!! ♥♥

Happy to satisfy your curiosity about the shower situation;) Towels were provided and there was a basket for used ones to keep things tidy. The shower at my end was very basic, but I was very pleased with the water pressure and temperature, I had been a little worried about that, but it was better than my home shower even! (That is a bit poorly sometimes)

Fellow passengers can indeed make or break a trip. (I won't get into details about some other people I came across...)

Amsterdam is a city that photographs well;)

Oh, forgot to mention in regards to the price difference: Gold and Platinum passengers have seats in cabins that turn into beds. Also: they have different restaurants to choose from and all off-train tours are included. There are probably more differences (I wonder what their bathroom situation is?) but these are the ones I know;)

Heyy look, I don't think I'd seen those bathroom pics yet, that looks really nifty. But yeah, I can imagine that big one leads to lots of mopping. Sort of like when you shower in my Dad's camper van *g*.

Ooo, lovely Amsterdam pics are lovely <3. Also love that mug, by the way *g*!

Yeah, I also felt a lot safer in the smaller shower; not as bothered by sudden trainmovements;)

It was a wonderful day in Amsterdam:) MY JOHN WINCHESTER MUG IS THE AWESOMEST \o/
