Of films and books and fanart

Finally folded my laundry today (I left it on the couch for -ehm- a week?) and also cleared away the dishes. Nothing like company coming over to take a critical look at your home and get things done;) So I also cleaned up my arts & crafts corner. The frames I painted yesterday eventually got the same colour blue as the rest of the frames on my fanart-wall. All the marvelous creations made for me by
dephigravity,
badbastion,
daggomus_prime and
cassiopeia7 now have a permanent place of honour in my guestroom.

Spent the afternoon with book- and film buddy Jelle, talking about life, the world, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and of course books and films. *grins* I made him watch the first two episodes of Orphan Black (he's definitely going to find himself the rest of the series \o/) In return he offered arthouse film Under The Skin in which Scarlett Johansson plays "The Female"; a mysterious woman who seduces lonely men in the evening hours in Scotland. Events lead her to begin a process of self-discovery.
There was hardly any dialogue and no music whatsoever, so you were forced to realy focus on the (lack of) action on screen. Pfff. A tough one and well worth discussing afterwards, which we did over dinner. I understand the film was based on a book by Michel Faber and I definitely want to read it to find out more about Scarlett's character.
Jelle also brought me my birthday present, so I updated my booklist \o/

Date: 2015-01-11 10:00 pm (UTC)Jeff's portrait was the first time I played with paper; I made him and Jensen for the ReverseBang 2012.
I added Jared to the set later, he was inspired by a story for the 2013 J2nonAU challenge.

That sounds rather . . . risqué. Jeff must have some mighty big "cupcakes," that's all I'm sayin'. ;)
