Wow, two posts in one day! Good thing I don't need my leg to art. Despite the injury I managed to finish before the deadline, yay!
After doing a Speeddate, I chose to do a Blinddate for the [livejournal.com profile] quicky_bang Matchmaker Challenge. As a mod I knew all submitted fics would be great to work with, but I was very happy to draw this bittersweet short story giving Sam one night with Madison. MY HEART. *clutches* I tried to capture the sadness in soft watercolours and simple lines. May I present:

Title: Would you stay as you are lying there?
Author: [livejournal.com profile] pbandbsandwichs
Artwork by: [livejournal.com profile] beelikej
Medium: black marker and watercolours
Pairing: Sam/Madison
Rating: NC-17 (ART is PG-13, I suppose)
Word count: 1343
Summary: This story diverges from canon in 2x17 "Heart". Sam and Madison get to spend one last night together, even though the outcome is still the same.

For the banner I added a soft light filter to make the image a little darker. Here is the unedited photo of the drawing with and without backlight:

The bright moon is created by a hole in the paper and photographing it on top of my light table.

Natural light without backlight:)

*blushes* Thank you! I love playing witht he light; this time it was really surprising how it affected the colours of the artwork.

Love the lines in the final drawing - deceptively simple! The lighting is so clever and effective too.

I see you didn't stretch your paper before painting, got to admit, that faffing around is part of what stops me from using my gouaches.

Ahw, thank you! I was aiming for simple lines (you already know from talking in person what I was frustrated about *grins*) Maybe I'll try stretching the paper next time, if I have the patience;)

Thanks! The backlight really made the moon shine the way I imagined (okay, fine the moon doesn't shine but merely reflects the light of the sun, but whatever, you know what I mean;) I think I like the colours of the original light better, but I am pleased with the slight nighttime effect I managed with the light;)

I love how you always change the hue and lighting on a piece, it actually makes a world of difference to the atmosphere of it.

Well, I do like to fiddle in Photoshop, but with my papercuttings or painted art I do try to keep it as natural looking as possible. This piece just needed a tiny touch of a nighttime feel;) Thank you!

I was very pleased to get the exact pink I was hoping for <3 I like the colours in plain daylight, but am glad the fiddling with backlight and turning it a little bit darker works for the banner:) Thank you!

Thank you <3 The style came pretty close to what I had in mind (even if I do see flaws in the execution, heh). Also: your comment made me consider the moon and as it turns out it features in more of my artwork than I had realised, ha!
