Artwork: Summer Lovin'
Oct. 16th, 2016 10:00 pmFor this round of the
quicky_bang I chose a sweet story with a subject I haven't visualized before: mpreg! It also features Jensen paired up with someone I never played with as a main character: the gorgeous Matt Cohen:) When
emmatheslayer told me the title was indeed based on one of the songs from Grease, I just couldn't resist using a beach scene from that film as a base.
But it's not all digital fiddling: for my additional art I did some papercutting with coloured paper! May I present:

Title: Summer Lovin'

Artwork by:
beelikej
Medium: Papercut additional art, Digital banner
Pairing: Jensen/Matt
Rating: R (ART is PG-13, I suppose)
Word count: 1218
Enticements/Warnings: mpreg
Summary: Preschool teacher Matt goes to the beach and finds what he is looking for.

(Or just scroll down;)
Additional Artwork!

"Summer Lovin', happened so fast" :-)

Matt looking at Jensen on the beach. Made out of three sheets of coloured paper and with details in black marker. There's a making of below.
How it was made

Pencil sketch and picking colours: yellow for the sandy beach, blue for sky and sea. I want to cut all the figures out of one sheet...

When the silhouettes of Jensen and Matt are cut, I slide the blue paper behind them.

Testing sunshapes and deciding on a stylized version. The edges of the sun will help define the horizon.

This is what it looks like from the back. On the front I draw details with black marker.

Putting both layers together with a black frame which also adds another dimension.
Tadaah!

I found a lovely photo of a sunbathing pregnant woman at Little LA Photo. I had a bit of difficulty turning that into Jensen's body and not have it look like a beer belly;)
For the beach scene in the banner I played with a screenshot from Grease; the first film I saw in the cinema, and still one of my favorites:)
Thank you,
emmatheslayer for offering your short story in the
quicky_bang and thus giving me a chance to try mpreg. It was also fun to fiddle with Matt Cohen *grins*
All comments are appreciated, from extensive concrit about my manipping and/or drawing abilities to simple smiles!

Date: 2016-10-16 08:45 pm (UTC)Mpreg is kind of low on my list of fave things (as in I don't really like it at all) but I love how you've done this scene - it's deceptively simple with the two colours and a bit of black pen, but it's obviously a lot of work! The blue and yellow are very effective, the end result is great.
Re: the manips - if you don't mind a bit of concrit, I think Matt's head is a bit too far to the right (as we look at it) on the column of his neck, it doesn't look quite right. As his head is tilted down, you could ahve probably moved the whole head lower and a bit to the left, then moved hid whole body right a bit if that brought him too close to Jensen.
Mmm I'm not sure I've explained that very well!!

I compared the two photos I used for Matt and his body had a different direction than his head and I realize now I should have tilted it. He already has an odd neck, but when I left his shoulder so low, it looks even weirder *grins*
