An exciting day today. I spent the whole day arting, messing with paint and paper in my pajamas, woohoo! Colour teasers in my Instagram: White / Pink / Brown (All will be revealed next week!)

Unfortunately later in the afternoon the day took a shit turn, when I heard a disturbance at the neighbour's apartment. (click to skip the domestic violence - everyone is okay now) I heard them shouting at each other (again) and then my neighbour started yelling at her husband to get out and I heard them moving outside but she didn't stop yelling, so I opened my door to check. When I saw my neighbour standing in the stairway I asked her if I should call anyone. She told me everything was fine, but he was apparently hiding on the stairs below and got back in, because as I walked back to my livingroom I heard more yelling and then she started screaming. I opened my door again, yelled at their door that I was gonna call the police. This had no effect, so I walked over to push the doorbell and then stepped back (our doors are 3 meters apart).

She opened the door, I couldn't see him, but she was crying and again told him to leave. He came out, walked down the stairs, then came back up but then left for real when he realized more neighbours were coming our way. I don't remember exactly how he left, because by then I had been distracted by my neighbour's little boy who was crying amidts the chaos. I told the kid to come over to my house and let the other neighbours deal with the grown ups. I managed to calm him down and clean him up (there was blood, but I think it was because he just lost a baby tooth, at least that's what he told me and he appeared to be alright once the panic was over (Gddammit, this seven year old boy was crying because he "didn't want his mom to be beaten to death").
When he was settled down, I brought him back to his mom; she was being comforted by two neighbours (both women, by the way, I guess none of the men were at home). They were trying to convince her to call the police (she just moved in here a couple of months ago, she came from a women's shelter with her kids, but apparently took him back in because of the kids. *sighs* This makes me so angry, not at her, just this powerless anger that makes me want to punch all lying bastards) I left them to it, figuring there were already enough people hovering over her.

A few minutes later, my elderly neighbour from downstairs came back to my door with the boy, asking if I could look after him while they dealt with the police.
So I let him play with my cool stuffed toys (he loved the massive snake and shark on my couch;) and when he'd had enough of that, we coloured together (well, I gave him paper and pencils to draw and I continued with my Reverse Bang art;) He chatted a lot and told me he liked my arts & crafts stuff:)

About an hour later I brought him back to his mom and twelve year old sister (who hadn't been home when all this happened, thank goodness). I invited the neighbour over for a drink in the future to connect as neighbours in a more normal way.
The police has been put on alert of the situation and all the neighbours have instructions to call 112 (911) immediately if the guy shows up again.
Let's hope he stays away.

ANYWAY... this put me in a GREAT mood for today's work-out session which was 10 minutes of non-stop fighting moves. I decided to not do the random exercises in Chapter 18 of Age of Pandora, but did a boxing session with my Moov-activity tracker...

Chapter 18 favorite (spoilers for exercises) + preview Chapter 19
Moov Boxing app.jpg
The Moov bracelets track movement and are connected to my phone through blue tooth. The boxing app offers a whole training program with targets coming towards you, that you have to hit with the right punch (you match the symbol with a specific move: jab, cross, hook or uppercut). I did 5 rounds, which added up to nearly 12 minutes, so mission accomplished:) OOOH, I AQUIRED A MOUNTAIN MEN PERK. IS THE PERK A MOUNTAIN MAN? *grabby hands*

In tomorrow's chapter we'll get a choice between two long sets. To be able to fill my video-playlist, I already had to peek at the exercises and I'm going with option B;)

I had planned some more arting, but I think I'd rather go to bed now. Night y'all!

Men like that are so -- argh. Manipulative bastards, basically. They use love as a weapon against the other person, it's just there to control them and make the other person feel bad when they try to get out of an impossible situation. It's so frustrating because it really needs so much bravery and courage from the trapped person, theres not really anything anyone outside the situation can do, they have to take action themselves. I feel for that woman, I really do.

And go you for helping out, that must have been so scary. (((hugs)))

As for RBB - you are making more mess than me with my otter and duck! :D

I had an argument with this guy before (when I didn't know about his history of domestic violence) and he lied right to my face about smoking in the hallway, while I caught him with a cigaret in his hand; he thought he could intimidate me.

I wasn't scared when I rang their doorbell, but very aware of what could happen. It wasn't until I got the kid a glass of water, that my hands started shaking.

Hehehehe, I so love making a mess, it's the best part of arts & crafts :-)

That is exactly it with those types, they are bullies but cowards at heart. Your neighbour is lucky to have you next door.

Jesus! Glad you and your neighbors actually DID something (and not hid behind closed doors). Go you! Kudos! And that poor woman. And the kids!

And Chapter 18 sounds like fun. Going in soon!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one turning up to help.

This whole think really helped me improve my boxing, all I have to do now is imagine having to actually fight an asshole;)

Like I said on Twitter... So great of you that you stepped in and made sure that everyone was okay. I feel so sorry for that kid, but you do have great arts and crafts stuff. ;)

Heh. I may not be 'good' with kids, but I can relate to their level of crafts and love for cuddly toys;)
