A quick stroll through sunny Amsterdam

Seems I'm finally catching up with my to-do list, yay! Only one week until I go to my first ever Supernatural convention and besides a couple of tiny things, I'm ready;) After I post this picspam, I'll go through my flist to comment and then I'll be up to speed again with all of you. I hope I can keep it that way, but with my participation in Land of Art, the upcoming SPN_J2_BigBang and moderating several fandom communities, I fear it won't take long to get behind a bit again. Oh well, such is life. Who wants to see some pictures from my afternoon in Amsterdam last weekend?
I went there for my brother's birthday-party, but took a much earlier train so I had some time for bookshopping, strolling through town and checking out the new Tony's Chocolonely's shop!

Nearly finished my book on the train; had to find a bench when I reached Amsterdam Central, because I only had five pages to go! There was no way I could go on with my day before reading those;)
It was busy at the Damrak, the street from the station into the city center. I was glad I could walk in the shade.

I knew in what building the new Tony's Chocolonely's was, but I couldn't find the entrance! So I walked all around the Beurs van Berlage to finally find it right at the front, haha. It was nice to discover the surroundings though, I didn't know there was such a cozy street behind it! (Great view of the station too)

Toooooooooony <3. Their chocolate is delicious and comes with a nobel goal: to make sure all people involved in creating chocolate get a decent pay. This colourful wall has all the bars in a giant dispencer: pull any handle for the flavor of your choice. (ALL OF THEEEEEEEEEEEEM).

See the house on the left filled up with cheese all the way to the top?
Close up of the gorgeous tulips on the Damrak.

Had to take a picture of the red cock *grins*
I got on a tram to my brother's where I met up with my family. We took a walk before dinner to the Rembrandtpark; this green giant is part of a collection of big sized art there.

The red puppies on the bridge are huge!
The window text of this bakery always puts a smile on my face: "Y'all are so lucky to have such a tasty baker". :-D
(His surname Dekker rhymes with the Dutch "lekker", which means tasty, cue all sorts of double entendres:)
*bounces* Six days to go until my flight to Birmingham, eeeeep!
