Woohoo, I have an extra superlong weekend! In the last week my shoulder mobility has been improving: I went to Aquarobics again for the first time since March. Afterwards I did feel a bit of pain in my shoulders, but it was good pain from exercising, not bad pain for overstretching, if you know what I mean.
Yesterday I had another appointment at the physical therapist, who pinched my left shoulder and made me aware I'm still not a 100% and to take it easy. He did -finally- agree to give me a few exercises to do at home. I got one of those elastic bands to stretch my arms with, but also strict instructions to only do that once every other day and not to do all the exersizes at once, pfff.
Anyway, lets continue catching up with the graphics I made for landofart in April and May:

Ch14PH18 - We Are Family
I handed in Golden Tickets for the individual challenge and chose Lady Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham (Downton Abbey) to represent me in the family tree for the team challenge:

Lady Violet Crawley is harsh and sarcastic on the outside, and tends to want to hold on to the past, but secretly she's not that bad; she takes care of business behind the scenes and adjusts to the future in her own way.


Ch15Ph18 - So Close, Yet So Far
Two techniques: Close Crop and Negative Space. Take one image and effectively crop it close and far away in Icon dimensions 100x100 pixels.



I won 5th place with Penelope's close crop:)

My favourites from these:

Inspire Me, especially 'Ponder' (statue) and Can You Text bookmarks (since I always like art with words).

I also like the Schitt's Creek art, because the text is slapped right over the image (and partly over the edges) and how you chose 'creek' in color when everything else is black and white.

Thanks very much:) I love playing with text, I should really sort out my font collection before the next Phase.

With Schitt's Creek I tried to see how much I could cut off the logo/text and have it still be recognisable.

Now I have to ask, how are you planning to sort your fonts? You do mean purging the ones you never use or something more complicated?

I'd actually love to have every font printed on a paper and organized in a folder. Old school style :). It would be so much easier to see them properly, letter by letter, since not all of them even have both upper and lower case letters, or numbers (and I can't remember which ones don't).

I would group them by style as they are already in alphabetical order in the dropdown menu in my graphics program.

But doing that takes so much time that so far I've only daydreamed about it.

I also wanted to ask what was the individual challenge for We Are Family - the one you skipped.

I used to have my fonts organized by type in different folders: serif/non-serif/slab-serif/handwriting/fantasy, etc. I don't know if I could purge, no matter how big my collection is, haha.

For work I did have a print of each font back in the day, I wish I still had that folder. Maybe if I have enough time I'll try to create something like that digitally. *sighs*

The individual challenge for We Are Family was to create different family-trees with at least six members (up to twelve members) using characters from different fandoms.
