spn_j2_bigbang this year, I signed up right away; how awesome that we still get to play in this fandom! Out of all the offerings I managed to claim a J2 story that was inspired by the TV-show Friends; I in turn let myself be inspired by the original title design and some iconic imagery from that show. I did some papercutting and created effects with my bone folder, which was a challenge to capture with the camera, but I think it worked out pretty okay. May I present:

But moving to Dallas and meeting Jensen,
maybe it’s finally going to be his day,
his week, his month, and even his year...

The title font is based on the Friends logo, with a combination of edited letters from the Friends font by Gabriel Weiss and Minus Cre by Fred Cre (See the Behind the Scenes section for an overview of my font edits)
The names and the chapterheaders below are set in Lydian by Warren Chappel, just like the on-screen end credits.
Chapterheaders
Slightly Spoilery!
The original size is 600 pixels (like the first one below) and each text headers is transparent, which is unreadable on my black journal background, but perfect for AO3:) I added a white background here for visibility.
POV headers
I initially made the Jared/Jensen banners with huge text, but after creating the chapterheaders I added a more fitting size so the author could combine them with each other. (Both versions are 600 pixels originally)

I was thrilled that these guys played a part in J2's lives, meet the gang:
Chad Michael Murray, Steve Carlson, Adrianne Palicki and Chris Kane!
Of course I had to sneak in a scene with Jeff :-p

Behind the Scenes
Building the title with - from top to bottom - the Friends logo and two fonts: Minus Cre by Fred Cre and Friends by Gabriel Weiss. The Friends emblem was designed by Deborah Naysee.
I had originally imagined using J2's profiles to create the edge of the iconic yellow frame from the show. This turned out to look more chaotic than I wanted, so instead I ended up making a modified version of the original frame that hung on the door of Rachel and Monica's apartment;)
I had the perfect paper, with the exact yellow colour as that photoframe from Friends!
After digitally drawing profiles from (young) J2 photos I created a template to use for cutting.
Positive and negative J2 shapes!
The photo frame was cut with a knife (the straight bits and curved corners) and scissors (the outside)
Creating depth and shadows with my bonefolder (swirls based on original frame)
Playing with J2: the purple paper was a little lighter than the colour of the Friends' door and even paler on the photograph; I enhanced the colour digitally for the final storyheader.
Creating the door between them, adding doorknobs, lock and lock chain holder
Folding the edges and adding height to create shadows and depth.
The yellow frame looks very flat, so I add folds to this as well.
I had added hinges with the bone folder, but didn't like the look of it and felt the door was too broad. I also slightly adjusted Jensen's nose.
I found the proportions of the frame a little off, so I added an extra fold in the middle!

A peak at the back of the composition and the final result. I added the title and names digitally.
Set up for the gang. I added photos of their faces digitally.
