I'm easy to please
Nov. 19th, 2006 01:16 pmDespite being exhausted from all the overtime I put in last week, there were still plenty of things that made me feel good. Most importantly the arrival of Sinterklaas yesterday. (online broadcast that only seems to work in Internet Explorer) The countdown to the celebration of his birthday has officially started. Woohoo!
Three more things that made me smile:
1. Every morning on my way from the busstop to work I walk past the window of a clothingstore. Behind it is this headless and legless body of a very well proportioned man dressed in underwear. His tight armygreen shirt and boxerbriefs are *very nice*. Last week they redressed him in a blue ensemble. I suspect they put a pair of socks inside his briefs... Totally unnecessary in my opinion. It looks weird.
2. On Thursdaynight I was allowed to cycle past an alcohol-checkpoint, where the police stopped every single car. The guy in charge had amazing eyes and great hair. He said 'hi'. Sigh.
3. When I hopped into the supermarket in between work Friday-evening to buy dessert to go with the take-out Chinese I ordered, I heard this familiar song. Then I remembered it was John Mayer's "Waiting On The World To Change": that was the song he performed on CSI while Nick was doing the white man's overbite. *giggles*
Also: I updated my movieblog. It's in dutch, but just in case you're interested, here are the movies I saw last month: (for the record 'Sneak-movies are not necessarily by choice, it's a surprise movie-showing every monday.')
Ober 10/15 Waiter. An absurd dutch movie by filmmaker Alex van Warmerdam
Click 10/16 Sneakmovie: I don't like Adam Sandler, but the concept of controlling your life with a remote sounded interesting. Plus Christopher Walken is in it.
Babel 10/23 Sneakmovie: Must see movie from Alejandro González Iñárritu
Marie-Antoinette 10/29 A very pink view of life in Versaille.
Wild Romance 10/30 Sneakmovie: about Dutch singer, artist and national junky Herman Brood.
His Big White Self 11/04 Must see documentairy about what's left of the Afrikaner Resistance Movement
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre-Beginnings 11/06 Sneakmovie: Yeah right, like I stayed for that one
C.R.A.Z.Y. 11/07 Coming of age in Canada.

Date: 2006-11-19 04:38 pm (UTC)I'm gonna go see Babel next week, probably. It's definitely good though, right?
And yay, thank you for reminding me that I need to buy John Mayer's album! I had planned to and then it slipped my mind - I'll go do it tomorrow, when I trade in my CSI s2 boxset (there's a scratch on it, doooom!). I love that song, I had no idea they played it on the radio though. And I won't click on the clip because I try to avoid seeing Nicky dance with Total Blonde Anonymous Whore. Ick.

Date: 2006-11-19 05:06 pm (UTC)Yep, it's such a good film you totally forget you're watching all these famous people. The three storylines are intriguing. Extra special love for letting everybody speak their own language. (hence the title, but it's an example for other movie-makers)
Nicky's dancing is adorable and TBAW only shows up at the end (you know Catlover2x made sense out of that thing?) - so it's save to take a peek;)

Date: 2006-11-19 05:14 pm (UTC)And yes, thank goodness for that fic. And yes Nicky's dancing (and singing) is adorable *happy sigh of fangirl bliss*, but still. Once -- or, y'know, three times -- was enough ;). Also, I promised CCke we'd watch it on Monday, haha!
