I'm back! And I don't just mean that literally:-) More on this personal development tomorrow, here's how I spent my last day in London:

Had a great night sleep, got up early and took a shower by the light of my bicycle-sparelight (girlscout experience: always be prepared;) Check out is at 10 a.m., but I finish breakfast around nine already and decide to go exploring this area of town (I usually stay at the north part of the river). Before I leave my backpack (and shoes) in storage I manage to find Basil's coworker, who does know how to write down my message about the broken showerlight...
Finaly outside I discover a lovely path by the river, too bad the weather just turned very English and I can't really enjoy the view. I will remember this Elizabeth-walkway for a next visit: with all the benches it's a perfect place to enjoy lunch or a good read.
I take the tube into town, hoping to go to an early movie, 'cause shops don't open until eleven and I can't find a dry place to sit and read. But all showings start at the end of the morning and I'm not sure if I'll have time to get my bags and catch my train.

Despite most shops being closed it's very crowded at Leicester Square. I talk to some kids and hear they are waiting in line for the premiere of Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire at 5 pm! I am a bit sad that I have to go home. It would have been so cool to see the actors and experience the spectacle that is planned on Leicester Square, sigh.
After I find Trocadero's shops open, I spend some time funshoping and that works really well on the brain: I decide to ask at the movietheater if I can bring my big backpack in, so I don't have to travel back and forth to the hostel after the movie. The girl behind the counter tells me it's no problem for the midmorningmovies, so I buy an earlybirdticket for the 11.40 showing of Elizabethtown.
It's eleven by now, so in forty minutes I have to travel back to the hostel to pick up my bags. From Picadilly on the Bakerloo line to Waterloo, change to Jubilee for London Bridge and the walk there take about twenty minutes and then I have to travel back with a heavy load, but I manage, since I'm a very experienced underground traveler now;)

Back at the theatre my ticket appears to be for The Brothers Grimm, but ticketcontrol-girl allows me to go the movie I asked for and luckily the remaining commercials and trailers last long enough to give me time to park my bags and get ready for the film.
It finishes at 2 p.m. and from Picadilly I can take a tube straight to Waterloo Station. Even after putting my weapon (ehm, a nailfile) and other potential noise-makers (ie watch and wallet) in my coat to go through xray with my bags, I manage to set the alarm off. A very eager customs-woman does a very rough bodysearch but seems dissapointed afterwards. (Hey, I enjoyed it:)

Travelinformation The 14.41 (2.41pm)Eurostar gets into Brussels at 18.02 (6.02 pm). I catch the 18.37 (6.37pm) to Roosendaal, just miss my connection to Zwolle, so wait half an hour for the 20.29 (9.29pm). That's supposed to be a fast train, but it only passes two cities and does stop at the other 25 (30?) stations on the way to Zwolle.

I cycle home from the station and am back online around 23.20 (11.20pm) for a short entry in my blog and lj. I start my dl for CSI Episode 6, unpack and go to sleep.
