Panic! At The Disco in Antwerp - Wednesday May 11
After the amazing concert in Amsterdam on Tuesday and a night on brotherdearest's couch,
tanisafan and I traveled to Antwerp by train (an hour later than planned, because the one we wanted to take apparently disappeared somewhere between Belgium and The Netherlands...).
In the afternoon
eledhwenlin joined us and together we walked to the venue, where there were already loads of fangirls and -boys sitting in front. T. and S. were allowed inside for their Meet & Greet and I settled on a bench with a book. I was two pages in when Tanni came running outside and said she had told Zack I had chocolate and I could come to the M&G too! Eeeep.

Three giddy fangirls :-D
Zack also invited a dedicated young couple who'd been at the venue since 7am and while we were waiting for the band, the boy was kind of bragging he was the oldest person in the M&G because 'he was already 20'. Cue snorts from yours truely. A little later it got even moreawkward amusing when the conversation turned to George Michael and the boy asked if I knew him, to which I replied that I'd been a fan of Wham and his girlfriend responded to that with 'Who's Wham!?". And she was not kidding. Ahem. Yes, children, thank you, way to make me feel old.
Before things got too embarrassing for me to handle, Zack came back for his 'don't be creepy'-speech and from then on I didn't care anymore, because I got to meet and greet Brendon, Spencer and Dallon \o/ (Ian wasn't feeling well, so he wasn't there, but they assured us he would be playing later)

A tiny Teletubbie standing in between sweet Spencer and Brendon, while Dallon looks like he's freezing. (He should have shuffled closer to Brendon, because -wow- that boy was warm.)
I remember both Spencer and Brendon commenting on my The Who shirt and Brendon noticed it was from Quadrophenia which made me love him even more. Take that, ignorant young fanbabies :-p
I'm not sure what else was said, but I'm pretty sure I was quietly squeeing all the time with a big smile on my face (see pic above;). Got autographs and handed over my chocolate to Zack in between.
There was also this moment:

The fanboy had sneakily handed his camera to Brendon so he could snap a picture of the couple with Zack (who never wants to be photographed;).
If the M&G itself wasn't awesome enough, we also got the privilege of being ushered past the long line of waiting fans and being allowed inside the venue before everyone else. We picked out perfect places up against the barrier. Front row center, people! \o/
The concert started with two opening acts who were both clearly more experienced than the band in Amsterdam: they knew how to work a crowd that was waiting for the main attraction.

Flatcat from Belgium

S and I thought he was a roadie at first, but as it turned out the cute dude testing the drums was actually the drummer of the next band himself;)

Destine from the Netherlands

I loved this photographer's shirt, but was very happy those guys weren't in front of us all the time;)
And then it was finally time for Panic! at the Disco!

That little red-haired 16-year old at the meet and greet is gonna be the most popular girl in school tomorrow, whether she knows Wham! or not, you know that, y? Bless them *ruffles their hair*.
God. Easily one of the best days of 2011 so far, y/mfy? *sighs happily*

Date: 2011-05-15 09:36 am (UTC)I'm glad I managed to capture Spencer. I haven't seen
Oh, the little fangirl was precious, I really wanted to hug her (and must admit I was jealous she had an opportunity to call her mom. NO, I'M NOT GETTING A CELL PHONE, SHUT UP)
Absofuckinglutely the best fucking day of 2011. \o/

Date: 2011-05-15 10:23 am (UTC)Can I add you? I was at that m&g too :D
It was so amusing when Brendon had to take that picture! :)
(the most amusing part were the fanboy and his gf omg >_<)
Nice pictures btw and it looks like you were standing next to me!

Date: 2011-05-15 10:58 am (UTC)Ahw, those two were adorable (Zack rocked for getting them for the M&G)
I'm thrilled my pictures turned out this good, it's a great reminder that the concert really happened. Heh, I completely forgot to mention how awesome the music was.
Hey, I have another picture of the M&G of Zack taking a picture of the band with a dark haired girl in a Marilyn Monroe shirt, that was behind me and S., that could be you? I can send it to you if you want (mail me: beelike@gmail.com)

Date: 2011-05-15 11:47 am (UTC)I was the last girl in line (the other redhead :P). I gave brendon an Aladdin cd.
Did you say anything to them? I was sooooo nervous that I had a blackout >_< haha typically me.
no subject
Date: 2011-05-15 04:06 pm (UTC)I bet Brendon loved that CD! I don't remember how coherent I was (probably because I wasn't;) but I meant to ask him something about the lyrics of Let's Kill Tonight and my mind was a blank too (well, except for the constant chanting of 'I'm really here, they're really here, this is really happening, oh my, Brendon is warm')
*grins*

Date: 2011-05-15 04:18 pm (UTC)And yeah he really liked the CD
His comments: OMG this is awesome, so awesome, it's my favorite movie whoa awesome, gimme a high five :D. And afterwards he started singing a aladdin song (so cute >_<).
And when I was standing next to him I started shaking a little bit and he started rubbing my back :D :D (The only thing on my mind then was: omg is he really rubbing my back :O )
And did you find Spencer intimidating?? I was standing in front of him and I was like: whoa Spencer :O (lol I don't make any sense)
no subject
Date: 2011-05-15 04:23 pm (UTC)Spencer didn't intimidate me, I found him to be very sweet and I was proud I was able to look straight into his eyes when he told me he liked my shirt.
These guys are the best, really.

Date: 2011-05-16 06:24 pm (UTC)I'm glad I have photos to remind me everything really happened!
The show was absolutely brilliant, I forgot to specifically mention that in my post, but I think the pictures say it all:)

Date: 2011-05-17 05:06 pm (UTC)Oh yeah, I made the picture. Thank you! *high fives back*
The show was so incredible :)

Date: 2011-05-16 06:19 pm (UTC)The photos you took paint a great performance, I can imagine it can be difficult to describe how awesome it was or what you felt. But it does seem you had a great time and the boys look full of energy. And they most definitely don't look like boys anymor; they are all grown up and they are professionals.

Date: 2011-05-16 06:49 pm (UTC)I was so busy picking photos for my post, I completely forgot to write about the concert, but that was truely amazing, of course. As you can see the setlist was mostly upbeat and the guys were really rocking the stage; bouncy Brendon was obviously having a great time. And so did we!
