I've been trying to think of ways to climb out of the pit of despair; I've been slowly sinking these past few days (weeks) and I've had enough.
Today I decided to try and not be a couch potatoe after coming home from work. I figured the best way to start was to not turn on the tv and have dinner while watching dumb shows which usually results in me being too lazy to get up and consequently falling asleep on the couch. Instead I sat at my dinnertable like a proper lady and read a book. What? I can't just eat and stare at the food. Plus I thought this was a clever way to avoid tv and finally read my collection of coffeetable books that are too big to take with me on the bus. I started in Harry Potter Film Wizardry, which is AWESOME. That amazing book about the art direction in all eight Potter films is also a lovely reminder of good times I have coming to me in the future. In May I'm going to London with
tanisafan and we're hoping to score tickets for the WB Harry Potter studios. Fingers crossed!
More events to look forward to: Eddie Izzard in Amsterdam in April with my brothers and sister in law plus the Quadrophenia concert of The Who in July with
tanisafan who is also coming over for a long weekend starting this Friday. That should take my mind off woe at work:)
Until then I'll be quite busy with artwork for the
j2noauchallenge; the idea is there and I already did some sketching, but due to being down I haven't been able to decide on a fitting technique. I'm glad the posting dates are spread out and I have time to get into the right headspace. The author I claimed wrote such a lovely story and totally deserves worthy art. <3
Someone asked how my finger was doing after that accident with the drill at work two weeks ago. It's healing quite nicely; the hole is now covered with pretty new skin and I don't need to wrap up my finger anymore. Which means I can scroll and type without hassle again, woohoo. For those of you who are interested, I posted a picture of my healed finger with the pretty pink skin, it includes a link to the original bloody photos in cased you missed the drama;)
I will now catch up on my fanfic reading (so many goodies posted tonight, including new
salt_burn_porn fic) and then attempt to turn into bed early. That's also part of my 'getting it back together' plan. SLEEP!
